As a women whose been in customer service for 12+ years, I know how management should be ran. Lifetime Johns Creek is by far the worst management I've seen at a gym. Armando is the rudest manager I've come acrossed in a long time. He is very UNPROFESSIONAL and clearly doesn't get the concept of privacy. I tried to cancel my membership and he has the audacity to try and use my personal life against me. WHICH WAS VERY RUDE and again unprofessional. He's also apparently very forgetful. If you're paying $80 a month for a gym I would expect nothing but the best and most professional in every way. The fact that you have someone like this in management is only hurting your business. I will no longer pay $80 a month for a gym that clearly only cares about money.

Poor serviceAwful pool hoursPoor managementAlways trying to upcharge/sell extra crap. Leave me alone. I just want to work out!Incompetent staffNot the best cleanlinessHusband was injured last year- his fault- but I asked to pause our membership as he'd require major surgeries and would be out for months. As his primary caretaker, I couldn't just leave him and take the kids to the gym. It was a nightmare dealing with his hospitalizations.Long story short, after months (6) of trying to cancel/stop my membership, they finally did it, but refused to issue me a full refund and instead threw irrelevant crap at us.I ended up with another membership and another gym. Will not waste anymore time here.

Former member. Gym and equipment are great, most facilities are nice. I give it one star because of the service and management. Hard to say this, because there are a few wonderful, sweet, awesome people at LTF. But overall, you'd be much better off down the street. Here are the reasons:1) Consistent, bizarre, awful experiences with people behind the counter. Way too many men get hired here that are walking meatpacks jacked up on something - too sexist and young to work in a family facility. My wife quit coming here after one month because she found the service unacceptable. I stayed another 6 because I liked the facility anyway. Then I made the mistake of trying to bring a few guests. Do not sign up for lifetime fitness if you want to bring guests. They will embarrass you with bad service, if they allow your guest at all.2) What they sell you and what they deliver are two different things. They show published pricing for adding a family member, but when we tried to do it, the price was 4 times as high. They claimed my salesperson was mistaken, even though she showed me a designed page of pricings. I was told my son could come as a guest - not true. I was told I could bring my children for up to 3 visits before deciding if I wanted to add them. Not true. I was told many, many, things that were later denied. Sales turnover is very high (average sales pro lasts under 5 months) so the person who sold you your membership will likely be gone when you go to complain, and the management doesn't register any care for your complaints unless they see that you are a big spender in the system.3) THEY MAKE IT VERY HARD TO CANCEL, and when they do finally have the one person in the building who can do it available, he lets you know that they require a 30 day notice from the cancellation forward. I visited the club 3 times over the course of a few weeks (they tell you when you sign up that you have to cancel in person) and each time the mystical supervisor who handles cancellations wasnt in (all three were peak hours). After your time has been epically wasted you are made to sign an agreement to let them keep charging you for another month! So - to be clear - they bill in advance from the time you join.Whenever a business relies on forcing people to pay more than they want to, against their will, you know that business does not extend the real value it claims. If LTF wanted to fulfill its brand promise, it could very easily. Very, very concerning this business of forcing an individual to pay a bill they dont want to pay for a service they don't want to use after you have already collected a year of $$ from them.So their goal is making as much cash as possible per member, to a point of extreme I've never seen before in a gym. Staff are chronically rude, most of the men here are extremely sexist and totally inappropriate to work in a facility with women and children. All in all I felt like one of those suckers at the amusement park who is forced to pay $6 for a bottle of water.I want a gym I can grow with. One that cares about my health. One that really gets human empowerment. I would like to NOT leave this review, but this place is such a bait and switch that I feel its my civic responsibility.PS - a reminder - the facility, equipment, showers, etc are all worth the money entirely.

Came from out of town and got the 1st class treatment from Taylor M., account manager, even though she knew I was only here for the day. She was very inviting and helpful. The entire facility was absolutely beautiful. I will tell my local family members that they need to join. I'll be back every time I'm in town. Thanks. Derrick from Augusta

Love the Lifetime experience, I've been a member for 8 years. However, I'm not thrilled that the outdoor cafe is closed on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe, it's a anomaly. Also, my wife told me that last week the women's locker rooms had no towels, but it was around 6:00 so I'm sure that is prime time so I understand.Overall, I've a happy member and will continue to enjoy my club.

They are extremely unprofessional. I just moved to here and was looking for a new gym to join. I was giving a great deal by a manager named Adam of only $75 for a two week trial period (sarcasm). Even though the price was steep I agreed because I was told I would be reimbursed in full if I was unsatisfied. Needless to say I was not happy. They spared all expense necessary on the weights to make sure to have a nice salon that never gets used. They also MAKE you meet with a personal trainer even if you do not want to. I told them several times that I had no desire to do so and they made me meet with him for an hour before I could go any further. So, when it was all said and done I called up to speak with Adam 3 days before my trial was up and was given the run around. I finally spoke with him and he was conveniently leaving town at the time I needed to come in and sign my cancellation. However, I tracked him down and got my cancellation signed by myself and Adam both and at that time I was told I would be reimbursed. Well, a few days later I was charged for the next month's fees and was never reimbursed my first payment. Well, do you think I was allowed to go workout this month which I have clearly paid for? No way! I was never given my money back I was promised and on top of that I was charged again for a month I was never there. So it has been over a month now since they promised me both charges will be reimbursed in full, but of course they have not. If you're looking for a great gym I recommend you look elsewhere (Atl fitness, LA fitness, Crunch, etc).

My experience at Lifetime began wonderfully. The gym is in great condition, with a gorgeous pool and lots of facilities for kids and adults.Unfortunately, my time at Lifetime ended very poorly. I became a member of the gym in May, in order to take the kids I nanny to the pool and basketball courts. I was never told of the policy in order to end my membership during the sign up process. (The salesman who signed me up for the membership was in too much of a rush to get my credit card information down).Because of this lack of knowledge, I called their membership offices daily in late June (20th-31st) to find out how and when I should end the membership. However, I was met with only answering machines and promises that someone would contact me back immediately. Finally, I called in early July (on the 3rd) and got a hold of someone and asked how to cancel said membership. I was then told that I needed to come in and sign off saying I was terminating my membership and it would be done. The only problem that occurred was that I was going to be charged for another month (all of August) and that my membership would officially be terminated starting September. My issue with Lifetime comes from the fact that I called multiple times in order to find out how to end my membership. I would have checked their website or come in to the gym itself, however, I was out of town (with no internet access) during the end of June. Had I known that staying an extra day on my vacation would end up costing me at additional $60, I would have immediately come home to cancel the membership. I understand that part of my problem comes from my own fault of not finding out the policies, however, I also believe that as a business, Lifetime should care for their customers. When I told the woman at the membership services of my complaint, she directed me to the finances offices, where a different woman told me that due to policy their was nothing to be done and that an additional month would be charged. I then decided to call corporate to see if there was any possibility of paying half a month's fees, or some sort of refund, and was met with a swift "No."Again, I understand that part of my job as a customer is to protect myself and look at the policies. But I'm frustrated by the fact that every person I spoke to wouldn't even try to help. It was a continuous string of "Sorry, it's the policy. No way around it."I understand that a business needs to make money, but I also believe that a business has a priority to serve and value their customers, and, in this case, I did not feel valued at all by Lifetime. Sadly, they will never be receiving my business again. I'd much rather go to a gym where I feel appreciated and they recognize my face and name, not just my money.

I always visit this facility when I am visiting Atlanta. I find it very satisfactory and well kept. The lockers, shower and towel facilities are very convenient. I am very satisfied with this gym and the fact that there are numerous facilities that I can go to even when I am on the move. Further, the lifetime magazine is full of excellent advice and great tips on eating healthy and staying fit. Way to go LIFETIME ... keep up the good work !!

Sure, this is a great gym. Yeah, there are a lot of amenities. It's clean, lots of equipment and activities to do, and people are relatively friendly - note that the people who ARE friendly to you are the ones who do not benefit from you directly, ie, the cleaning staff, the rock wall attendants, the lifeguards, the people at the front desk. Everyone else (membership associates aka salesmen, personal trainers, etc) is pushy, glaring, and definitely not very friendly. I'm sure that when they look at you, they only see dollar signs.I was informed by the salesman when I got my membership that I could "cancel it anytime." He reassured me that when I went back to school in the fall, I would be able to cancel it, no problem. So I went in to cancel, and was informed that in order to actually cancel my membership for good (as in, no more paying monthly membership fees), it would take a full billing cycle (a month). So when I went in at the end of July to cancel, I would actually not be done until the end of August. Um, excuse me? I'm paying for a full month that I actually won't be using the gym? And I could cancel "anytime?""Yes, you CAN cancel anytime. It just won't take effect until the next billing cycle," he informed me.This is a tricky and misleading statement, one that they use to take advantage of unwary and trusting customers. I read their policy when I signed up, and assumed that the end of the billing cycle was at the end of the month, and thus would be cancelled for the next month, but alas I was wrong. There are a whole host of other things I can complain about too:- They are disorganized with their summer camp activities, or any other activities they try to put on for that matter. There are a lot of confused people and never anybody around to actually answer your questions about what is actually going on.- Their swim lessons are JUST as tricky. I have heard of many complaints from parents about management. Teachers will get there really late, or will show up and not even be on the schedule for the lesson. It's hard to sign up and then when you do, you may or may not be satisfied with who is actually there teaching your child.- Yeah, they have free towels for you to use in the locker room. Good luck finding one that looks clean, or doesn't make your skin chafe.- As a college student, I wasn't even informed about cheaper membership options that would better fit my schedule until I went to another location with my friend, where the associates were MUCH friendlier and didn't just see me as my money but actually cared that I was getting something out of my experience. Here, they're really just trying to get you to make you pay a lot more than you need to be paying for. Please do not make this mistake. Better yet, go to LA Fitness. It's only just down the road and I haven't heard any complaints from my friends who work out there.
