Crunch Fitness - Lubbock

Bought a gift card for my daughter for three months for her birthday. They charged my card for over a year. Then wouldn't cancel til she came back to lubbock to cancel. They said they'd have a manager call me and didn't. Check your account if you do business with them.

I am very disappointed in this company. I have repeatedly tried to cancel my membership over the past 2 years. I didn’t once go in for those 2 years(I shouldn’t have signed up for a membership at all I only went in as a visitor once.) You are bound by your contract here and you can’t cancel over the phone. I live 6 1/2 hours away now from this specific crunch gym, and I have repeatedly asked to cancel. I paid over $1600 in fees for never going once, so of course I’ve tried to cancel. They don’t accept over the phone cancellation and you have to send a letter (this is 2023 who does that anymore?) I’ve sent the letter and called and they have not received any letter whatsoever. I finally called my bank to cancel my payments, and once that happened I got 24 missed calls from crunch within a week and a half span… interesting calling someone that many times because they forgot to give you their free money. Shame on you crunch. This company is pathetic and you should never agree to any contract with them ever. I finally called back the number to tell them I wanted to cancel, and they said I couldn’t unless I paid my annual fee and late fees that I missed since I canceled my payment before canceling my membership. After all of this, I called them back and ended up paying $96 to be able to cancel it since they slapped me with “late fees” I just wanted them to stop calling me 3 times a day and leaving me voicemails. Literally they were so invasive. So all in all 0/10 recommendation for this gym.

Love this place but crowded. Just don't expect to get in and get out. The wait time for equipment is ridiculously long. A 30 min workout takes 2 hours and that's NOT during peak hours. And don't bother trying on Saturday. People 'camp' the equipment. Now all that said, the staff are great, overall cleanliness is top notch. The facility just needs twice the equipment for the amount of people.

The staff was very friendly and the facilities/machines were always clean. My husband and I started going to this gym in May. Everything was great and we loved it, however as soon as Tech started up again it got extremely crowded. Being that they only have 1 of each machine it was very difficult to complete a workout within a reasonable time. The app also had tons of issues. Really did like the gym but the crowds made it way to overwhelming.

5 STAR CORRECTION/UPDATE!💪 (8/3/23)After a long trip to Florida to get my service dog, I signed up at crunch in another state in which I was able to go to many different locations.After riding back to Lubbock I was nervous to figure out whether they would give hassle in regards to my membership and to the past events that took place in which I was told not to come back for absolutely no reason.That being said I have never been more welcomed and never felt more home than I was and I was greeted recently coming back to Lubbock and back to the crunch fitness here in town. You staff is absolutely amazing and this location is blessed to have great people who really care about their guests who come in the door every single time, every single check-in!Personally I hold nothing against them and anyone in the past I understand business is a previous owner of my own franchise store and even fitness industry for so long This is a very difficult job and task sometimes. I wish everyone from the past the best of luck and to the new staff thank you for all you do to make this gym excellent for the Lubbock community! 🙌CORRECTION! **10/27/21 **One bad apple ruins it all..Being new to Lubbock, been going on a guest pass, an employee verified with me when I went at lunch today (Monday) but then...I come back to finish my workout (around 6pm) and the GM gets very disrespectful saying the date is no longer valid even though it's says activated in there computer system.(I planned on signing up the prior weekend but was told my pass was still activated)On the 2nd I planned on getting the $59 membership with tanning, (again I'm in town temporarily living out a bag due to moving states) But being disrrspcted and treated like trash at the front desk makes that hard to do.As a franchise owner, my manager would be tossed very fast, this was a power trip. The other employees are great and respectful, hang on to them

Friendly staff, not a fan of the way they do their contracts but the building itself is pretty clean and the other gym goers are all pretty much focused on their own thing.

They will find a way to charge you well after you stop going. VERY shady. I called my bank after Crunch refused to cancel my membership over the phone and put a stop payment. They charged me two more times by changing an aspect of either their information or mine. I’ve just replaced my debit card and put another stop payment on Crunch for $1. Any business that makes it this hard, and goes out of their way to collect a little $10, should be lamped.

Super affordable!! Great and clean equipment with great atmosphere!

Still charging me after I canceled! Having to file a dispute with my bank! Don’t sign up with these crooks.

I cancelled my membership over a month ago and saw a charge on my bank account today. The worker even told me my last day was today… yes. Because I cancelled it before the last pay period. Get your system together because I’m not the only one.I’ve always hated this gym.
