Fitness Connection

I WAS content with the gym. Until I moved cities... I've sent TWO written letters to cancel my membership and I'm still paying for three accounts for two months. This is the most incompetent company I've dealt with. I see here that if you don't pay they will seek collections. Wow. Poor business ethics and owners. I hope they see this concern and respond promptly...will keep this thread updated.Fitness connection social media team, do not bother responding unless you have an actual fix for this matter and SEVERAL other customers.Thanks,"a valued customer"**UPDATE**I attempted to go with a guest even though I validated that, that particular gym allowed guests via the website. It tells you what gyms do and which don't. Thank God I was finally able to cancel my membership in person after two years of paying two memberships because of their refusal to work with a member that no longer lives in the city.

Great staff, friendly environment. When you sign up for a trainer they use a 3rd party (Paramount) to draft payment so you can’t cancel easily (30 days notice) or get a refund through fitness connection directly. I tried to cancel twice, first time I was told it was cancelled over the phone but payments kept drafting. 2nd time I attempted to cancel they persuaded me to try a different trainer (previous trainer didn’t like to come in early). I have paid at least $500 in personal trainer fees that should have been 12 training sessions and I had maybe 3-4. When I reached out to the trainer he said he would check his schedule and never got back to me. I hope this last (3rd) attempt at cancelling works. KC was very empathetic and assured me it was cancelled.

One of the best gyms for the price. The equipment is relatively in good condition. At times the gym can get full of people but the environment in there is great. If the sauna was open I would rate it a 10/10

TLDR: For how hard it is to cancel when you leave this gym, how little availability there are for these gyms around my area/the country, the hours, the Lack of cleanliness and organization and lack of effort from staff, I decided not to go with Fitness Connection. Decided to try planet fitness instead for now and eventually go with 24 hour fitness as they offer the same exact things but at a higher price and with better hours.Place was super dirty, half the people there were not aware of what they were doing and mostly there to either get the job done or mess around and waste time. Front staff was a bit rude, tried to sign up and they didn’t want to accept my passport ID because it wasn’t a local ID, no reasoning beyond that. Guy at the front desk told me my trial membership would help me decide if I wanted to sing up or not, after the first day I knew didn’t.I have had multiple friends sign up and they enjoy planet fitness but they also disliked the mesquite location, said it was not up to the standard that their other gyms were but at times it was the only one nearby.Used the cardio machines and some weights and called it a day. There were many machines broken and badly spaced out as well as weights unorganized and left out. Sauna was shut down but didn’t really need to go visit it. The basketball court was nice, liked the availability of the cycling classes and the kid care while working out, but most of the stuff there was unavailable or affected negatively by COVID restrictions. The other thing is the hours are very inconvenient, not 24 hours while other places are, makes it hard to really decide on this place over better alternatives

I joined this gym club today! I was shown the facility by Jonathan. He was specifically engaging in talking about the workout area and zone points. He explained the woman's area , food and smoother area and what the membership consists of. This seems to be a great place to work out and gave off great vibes.

Very clean and organized (at least in comparison to the red bird lane location). It does get very busy, as any gym would around opening and closing times. Front desk has always been kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. Good weekend hours 👌🏾 …

The staff here are amazing, friendly, and the best 👌🏾. Overall the gym is Great. Spacious and lots of equipment . The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because We are located in Dallas, home of the DallasCowboys and they will play every game on TV instead of the Cowboys or Dallas Mavericks ‼️ I don't like that.Help …

So my wife and I came there to check out the gym on 4-13-2021... the place next to it for kitchen grill was amazing. Fitness connection looked amazing but while we were waiting on our food a fight broke out that involves two people the worst part is that 20-40 people came out of the gym as well egging it on. One of the gentlemen there with a black fitness connection shirt was out attempting to stop it but the staff at the desk did nothing, no calls to the police, they didn’t threaten to revoke membership status to the people involved and this ultimately put a super bad taste in our mouths regarding our experience. Even in a year after our current membership with another gym is done we will not be coming to fitness connection. You guys need to do much better.

I have been a member at Fitness Connection for over 4 years. This location and the one I went to in North Austin are by far the biggest and nicest Fitness Connection locations I've ever been to. The staff are quite friendly and professional. Essentially, every article of workout equipment at this Mesquite location was new or functioning well. This location also has a basketball court, a cafe area, and many more amenities that I was unaware of. I definitely recommend signing up with them if you are only planning on primarily working out at this location. Avoid the Garland location on Shiloh and Buckingham at all costs.

This gym always feels so musty. The front desk staff is always super kind. But hardly anyone in the building wears masks (not like they ever enforced them), nothing feels clean, and the weights are the most unorganized i’ve seen of any gym so you’re often hunting for them in the weight area. If you can afford it, definitely look at other gyms because fitness connection might be one of the cheaper ones but you’re trading off an organized, clean gym for one that prioritizes selling the most memberships they possibly can regardless of how many they could actually fit.
