Update 3/13/23: Just paid 2nd $73 Annual fee for 2nd family member I signed up in January for the $1/month promo. Both relatives only visited the club twice in January. According to the GMgr, Naz, the condition of this promo was an obligatory month of membership for February and a $73 annual fee with taxes. After explaining this to Naz she did offer to waive the February fees for both accounts but insisted the annual fees could not be waived. Unfortunately, I was not aware of these obligatory fees at signup. I would have preferred a more straightforward promotion without having to worry about fine print fees. After four visits for two members, I paid $150. I haven't had an experience like this with any business, ever. I think 4 visits in a week would have merited waiving all fees.I signed up two family members two weeks ago. Gym lacked machines so we opted to cancel. Mike the "manager" stated that we couldn't cancel until next month. Apparently what was offered as a no annual commitment turned out to be at least a two month commitment that includes $40 per month and and $70 annual fee. A commitment that we just found out about today. Very shady way to run a business. Will update to inform if I get something more than an automated response with an email to reply to.

I have been coming to Nysc Glendale for over 10 years and in those 10 years , Nas is the best manager I’ve ever seen in New York Sports Club. I suggest that you keep her here for as long as you can because I love NYSC and she is the best manager. She creates a great environment and is very charismatic. She attracts the public and is very skillful.

Good equipment if you’re interested in doing cardio only. Rather be apart of planet fitness for half the price

I cancelled via e-mail back on 1/20/2021 in which I have a copy of and unbeknownst to me I was continuing to being charged for the next 2 years. Even after I received a cancellation email, I was being charged until this month for this gym that I have not visited since beginning of the pandemic. I am now in the process of disputing all the charges in the last 2 years with my credit card company. This is exactly the type of behavior that everyone dreads when joining a gym. Your company has extremely unethical and unscrupulous methods of doing business and are meant to trap people into reoccurring payments. This is ridiculous that I even have to spend time to write this kind of feedback.

Updating my review:Let me start by saying that working out is my life saver. It’s a lifestyle for me and has kept me sane for the last few years. This gym is the best in the neighborhood! I’ve been a long time Middle Village resident & have been to all the fitness facilities in the area & this place is the cleanest and the staff is the friendliest. The front desk always greets you on your way in and out. Also, the members that work out here are great - always courteous, come in do their own thing, no judgement zone. I’m so happy that Nas, the general manager, is back in this location. She is a true gem! Everytime she’s the manager of Glendale it’s in tip top shape. Anything I bring to her attention, gets resolved and she even takes the time to follow up with me. There was a machine I frequently use that broke and she called me once to tell me the parts came in and then again to tell me it was fixed. Talk about going above and beyond! The free parking is also a great incentive with membership. The only thing I miss is the babysitting for my kids.

I had almost given up on NYSC, but on a whim signed back up and can say I have no regrets! If you're looking for a good workout, all of the essentials are here. And to top it off, Mike is the absolute best and always ready to help and connect with us!

I come here everyday. Nas & Mike are doing a great job running this place. I've been a member for years and the new free parking perks are GREAT!

I began coming to NYSC since the start of the pandemic. There’s a bunch of machines, it’s never too busy throughout the day, the space is extremely clean, and the staff is beyond friendly. I recently started coming more often and the staff being happy to see me come more consistently makes this club such a welcoming environment. I have been a member of several other gyms before and this one has been by far the best one. Being a member here was the best decision I made!

I've been a member here for 4-5 years. I have seen a lot of improvement in the last year, probably due to the pandemic. The reviews exemplify that as well, as they used to be pretty negative and now are the opposite. I remember certain pieces of equipment, i.e. the rope attachment, were tattered and torn and there were only two. Recently I noticed they've added more. The gym definitely looks and feels cleaner, and the front staff is so much friendlier now. Shoutout to Mike, who has always been so kind & helpful.I do have a couple of suggestions - An entire set of kettlebells was recently added to the green area which seems nice, but actually it's unnecessary, as there's already a whole set a few feet away. I am hoping they'll add another set of dumbbells in that area somewhere instead. Often there are no dumbbells in the rack, and there are never any that are 20 pounds and heavier. For those, you'd have to walk all the way to the back and carry them over which is a nuisance. Also another set of bumper plates would be great. We only have one set near the deadlift area, which is only for one barbell. So if someone is deadlifting, and you are forced to create a deadlift area with the squat rack barbells, you have to roll the bumper plates all the way across the gym. Another thing: there are never enough 10, 5 and 2.5 plates to go around. I am always having to run and find some by the bench areas when I am squatting or deadlifting. Those additions would make a big difference for a lot of us!
