This is the worse gym I've ever been to! Transfered my membership from 76th st location , lady at the front desk told me you are good you don't have to do anything. A month later I saw two charges , one from e76 and one from this. I spoke to front desk they said you didn't transfer it , they would do it for me and give me credit but credit would apply to next month , next month same scenario, charged me twice , spoke to front desk againWanted to cancel my membership but she promised she would give me a whole month free , guess what ? Nothing they charged me full amount. Spoke to them again asked them to cancel , this guy at the front desk was like I don't know how to cancel , I'll take a note and will let the manager know. This is ridiculous

I was formerly a member of the 106th st location prior to the pandemic, which closed down permanently. I naturally went to the next nearest location which is 91st st and 3rd Ave once the gym reopened after NYS uplifted the ban, in September 2020. I was informed that my membership was moved to a further gym location, 125th st, due to this being an elite location. I understood giving the location and likely higher taxes, and with that there is an incredible difference in pricing. Since I was a given 1 year of elite service, I figured that I would cross the bridge of getting my location changed once it ended in September 2021.Just 3 or 4 weeks after, the 125th st location canceled my account without: 1) notifying me 2); me having ever stepped foot in the facility and 3); without my consent. I discovered this after visiting the 91st st location and my badge not scanning. I spoke with the manager, whom I would say was extremely helpful. He signed me up for an elite membership with same price point due to the inconvenience. For that, I am extremely grateful. I now explore other locations near my gf, though this is my primary location.I cannot atest to any of the previous comments on the gyms former condition, but it has all newly updated equipment; a wide variety of equipment and multiple of each at that. The gym is fairly clean and the staff are constantly making an effort to keep the environment clean and safe. Staff always greet me at the entrance and have a smile on their faces. The gym can be a tab bit crowded due to some new members from the closures of nearby locations, but you can still get a decent workout. The only downside I find is that more equipment has become broken and free weights are often missing or displaced. That's likely due to customers with poor gym etiquette and frequently usage. The gym could us an extra inclined bench and more roam rollers but other than that, it is a good gym.

I’m Jaime S.I have my membership with this gym and I go there because it is the one that I have the most money at home and I like you more or less, its machine facilities are good but I am upset colleagues, friends because I told the manager to leave my wallet with $500 dollars in my locker and my clothes that I changed and I said locked with a key after an hour and a half of exercising I came back to change and I put my locker and my money was gone.I told the manager and she told me that she was only going to help me with half the money she was going to give me credit, but I wonder if that wasn't my fault, it was their facilities because it may be possible that they steal it. It's supposed to be a safe gym, an expensive place, it's supposed to steal, that's why I'm upset, friends, don't leave anything of value and money, or wallets. I still exercise there, but the people there don't trust me anymore. Take care and be careful. You know where to report this incident to make it safer, because they are supposed to charge dearly because you have safe installations, my people.😏😏😔😔

I canceled my membership with them beginning of March, and also in April. I called and I spoke several times to a female and she told me “Don’t worry I just cancel your membership” But why I’m still continue getting charged every month. Worst and poor customer services.

I canceled my membership with them in April, received a written confirmation and continue getting charged every month. They don't reply to my emails, took their website down, don't answer the phone and illegally keep my credit card on file. Many people are in the same situation right now. This is by far THE WORST GYM IVE EVER SEEN, stay away from it from your own good!

I have to admit that the facilities themselves here are wonderful, its an excellent gym to workout in.... until you need to cancel. Thats when the pirates come out.You cant cancel online. If you call, no one ever answers. It doesnt matter the time of day, you can try every extension and they will not pick up.I had been trying to cancel this account for months during covid, so obviously couldnt come in person to do so until i got vaccinatedWhen i was finally able to come into the gym itself, the young lady, Janelle, behind the front desk did not want to let me. She made up lies about making multiple phone calls to the number on the account. She then said the contract stated the only way to cancel was theough certified mail. When she couldnt produce a SIGNED contract to prove this, and was all out of cheap lies to throw in my face, her and her friends started yelling at the top of their lungs, telling us to get out while laughing at us like a bunch of hyenas.I was shocked how quickly a human being could get this nasty, all because they couldnt successfully scam you, but i guess thats just how these pirates are.If you have the chance to go to a different gym in this neighborhood, theres Crunch, Equinox, and the Y all within walking distance, where hopefully they wont treat you like the NYSC does. This also isnt the first time this location has tried to scam me with fake contracts, however, they keep using the argument that theyre "under new management." How convenient

This gym is dirty, busy and they make it impossible to cancel your membership. You can’t cancel over email, you can’t find anyone with whom to cancel in person, and the customer service number representatives are hostile and read from the contract you signed. These people are criminals - save your time and just cancel your credit card.

If I could give this gym and this company 0 stars I would. It is nearly impossible to cancel your membership. When you try to cancel their computer systems are ALWAYS mysteriously not working. After you do cancel, or at least they tell you that your membership is cancelled and they have taken your credit card off file you will still get charged! DO not EVER sign a membership. Luckily this is NYC and there are so many better gym options.

It is ridiculous they call this gym an elite gym. Machines are often broken without been fixed for months, there is NO HOT WATER in the last month. How long does it take to fix a water problem... studio is so loud and cold... Pool is small with 4 lanes.

author-img

It’s unbelievable that this is an elite location. I have complained 3 times to no avail about a flickering overhead light in one of the studios. There aren’t nearly enough weights for class members and most of the yoga mats are completely torn up. At least there’s AC.
