Dangerous, unsanitary gym. Worst quality NYSC I have ever been to. I received one of these same replies to a complaint I posted to their Facebook page. When I followed up to the e-mail address they provided nobody ever responded. I have had machines break on me while I am using them, there are dirty towels everywhere and they constantly run out of bathroom soap (I don't even know how a place can be so poorly managed that they run out of soap and don't replace it for weeks at a time). Machines stay indefinitely broken. There is something seriously wrong with the way this gym is managed.

I wish I could give this gym zero stars. I’m honestly not even sure this facility has a manager and if it does, I have never seen one. The equipment is always broken and when you ask if something will be fixed you don’t get a response. The gym is filthy as well, yet machines will be wiped down with heavily scented cleaner when you’re using it. Yet the gym continues to be dirty, go figure. I can’t belive they call this gym elite when it literally should either be free or $10/month for the service, equipment and cleanliness. It’s convenient but other than that stay away.UPDATE: I took the time to email to this bogus email address they provided. No response—shocker! Also, still no TVs three weeks later. This company is a disaster.

The gym is dirty to the point of being downright disgusting - cupholders in particular are often sticky and have trash in them. The equipment is frequently broken for weeks at a time and repaired cheaply (e.g. tape holding broken parts together). To top it all off, my membership price was increased without notice and the gym manager refuses to return my calls.Take your hard-earned money elsewhere - you deserve better!

THEY LOST MY DRIVERS LICENSE AND ASKED IF I STILL WANTED TO JOIN THE CLUBI started at this gym using the 5-day trial pass to see if the gym was an ideal fit for me and my training. NYSC has this policy where they require you to hand in a form of Identification when using the trial. On the third day I handed in my ID like I normally did, had a fantastic training session and felt really good, I go up to the front desk and the employee begins to look for my ID only it’s taking her a really long time to find it. I remain patient and 5 minutes turns into 30 and I also begin looking behind the front desk to look for my ID. The employee gives up after trying to reach her coworkers and manager—Yes the manager was nowhere to be found—and asks for my information to see if she finds it after closing. I did not receive a call the next day, so I called the gym and asked for a manager each time I got voice mail. I didn’t take that lightly so I returned to the gym and before I could say anything there is the employee who lost my ID “Did they find your ID?”. I was totally confused, there was no ownership of what she had done. I guess I had a look on my face because she apologized and reimbursed me herself to replace my ID. About 5 days later the manager of the store calls me and says that she is returning my call, I’m waiting to here more but she clearly didn’t listen to the voicemail I left so I give her the story and tell her that the matter has been handled—no thanks to her. She then transitions the conversation to selling me a membership—Excuse my language but what a complete dumbass.Moral of the story you don’t get what to pay for: the price of a membership is kind of expensive given the amount of equipment available and its quality and age and the service. I have heard complaints about NYSC establishments and now I have no doubt everyone’s story is true.

I just took the Sunday 12.30 Vinyasa Yoga class with Sylvia Smith. She ran the class past the 55 minute time. We left after an hour and 8 minutes. She came in late and never asked if anyone had injuries or needed accommodations or differentiation. She did not smile or welcome students to her class. The room was loud because of the heating equipment and it was hard to hear her. She did not wear a microphone. She was snarky and rude when members couldn't follow the poses correctly. Mostly because we couldn't hear her across the room and her instructions were not clear. This was my husband's first yoga class in years and she was using her feet to correct his poses! Very unprofessional! She pushed me hard in my back to correct my chair pose which was painful! I left feeling uncomfortable and in a bad mood which is not an experience I have ever had taking yoga. She clearly has little patience for beginner yoga students. Unfortunately she is the only teacher on the weekends. Please put in another teacher. Sylvia Smith may be good at yoga herself, but she is by far the worse yoga teacher I have ever encountered.

I've been coming for a year because it's distance from my house. They call themselves elite for no other than being in UES. They have oversold memberships and it's always packed no matter the time. I like the classes they have, but even reserving the class sometimes it's so pack I don't even go in. I'm not sure if they don't oversee the number of people going or they just let anyone go in. A lot of machines are old, broken and weights all over the place. The downstairs doesn't have enough ventilation so it's always smelling weird. My brother tried to cancel his membership when it became elite a few months ago and that was a nightmare. It took months to get it done and he had to pay those charges.

I signed up at a different gym and they asked if I wanted the elite membership. I asked them if the gym closest to my address is an elite gym. They told me it wasn't. I've just been informed that they've been charging me $20 every time go to work out because it is an elite gym.I was able to resolve this fairly painlessly by just speaking to the manager of the club. He credited back all the $20 charges to me.

Moved to the UES. First visit to this club I specifically asked if I could use it or if there would be any additional charges? They told me no. Fast forward 7 months and I have a $160 charge to my card. I ask about it and they tell me it is an elite club it is $20 every time I use the club but since I didnt know that they will refund my money. However to continue using the club I would have to upgrade and pay another $40 a month or $20 every visit. This gym is a mess, dirty, always crowded, machines constantly broken. I was told I was slamming weights too hard doing cleans on the lifting platform, what is the point of the platform then?? I canceled my membership but somehow was still forced to pay for another 2 months for a gym I could not use. I was a NYSC member for over 3 years, will never return!

The pool gave chlorine poisoning to multiple members. Some of the machines don’t work. Some machines sit underneath leaking pipes. The locker rooms and showers are a bit skeevy. It’s an ok gym if I was comparing it to, say, Planet Fitness but it charges much more than those places. If you’re going to charge more then the members should expect a higher level of service.

This gym moved to 'elite' gym status but nothing about the gym reflects this change. Nothing new added except hundreds of members to contribute to this overrated gym.The gym is constantly a mess with machines broken, or missing pieces and dumbbells everywhere. It looks like a tornado hit the place.Good luck getting someone to spot you with how close together everything is. It's nearly impossible to get behind the bench to spot unless you're willing to crawl behind the setup. The staff pays no mind to class attendance. If you're looking to try out a class where you can smell someone's breath from how close you two are; this is the place for you.
