I worked out here twice and contracted smallpox. The first case since the 1970s. That's how old and dirty the equipment is here. Staff is cool though.

Ive never seen a worse indoor basketball court than BCS-Allston period. other than that, pretty great gym atmosphere overall.

BSC Allston is so dirty and filthy that I was forced to cancel my membership and move to another gym. It doesn't seem like they a good cleaning routine or any cleaning routine at all.

Lots of hidden fees - here’s a scam they pull at the new year: They advertise as $1 to join, but even if I sign up for month-to-month, they take 45 days to process it. Guess when they hit you with the yearly fee? February 15th. So you unknowingly agreed to $150 already.The Allston club is decent, just figured I’d spread the word to the money-conscious.

The BSC is not a bad gym as far as gyms go. It's middle of the road, which is a good thing in my book. There aren't too many muscle heads and not too many Barbie dolls and few hardcore gym rats. There are lots of regular people looking to get into better shape.The staff is nice, the equipment is good and varied. Above all else, it's clean.

Really bad service. Paid for a membership and tried to work out 5 days later. Got turned away at the door saying "my membership isn't activated yet."

Good location. Clean, modern, free towel service. I just wish BSC wasn't so expensive. I switched to gymit because it's 1/2 the price.
