Located at 15 Gorham St, Allston, MA, New York Sports Club offers a spacious gym with various equipment and facilities, including a large weight room, cardio machines, squash courts, and more. The gym has a welcoming atmosphere, appealing to young professionals and older adults alike, with an inviting loft-style setup featuring exposed brick, tall ceilings, and natural light. The BSC at allston is terrible beyond belief. The reps are dishonest and will tell just about anything to get you to sign their ridiculous binding contracts. The management there is a complete joke and do everything to try to squeeze every last penny out of you. I had filled out the forms to cancel my membership towards the end of my contract and they conveniently "lost" the forms and ended up charging me an additional 2 months after my contract ended and refused to issue a refund. The management are extremely rude, condescending and have absolutely zero customer service skills and would rather insult you then admit they made a mistake. This is by far the worst managed gym I've ever been to. Stay away from BSC. I could recommend another gym, but literally ANY gym in the area will be lightyears better then this joke of an establishment.

Terrible! First off, there is no pool. Why is there a pic of a pool for this location?! It's very dirty and the locker rooms smell terrible! The staff, although there a few nice and helpful ones, are lazy, immature and texting all day. If you go on weekend on holiday bring nose plugs when entering the locker room. The dirty towel bin will be overflowing with dirty sweaty towels and the cleaning staff is no where to be found. Get EVERY promise in writing from the sales staff. They are a bunch of liars that promise the world to get you to sign a contract but then have amnesia when called out of the false promises. Of course, customer service good or bad all starts with the location manager. The manager at this location is nowhere to be found and suddenly in meetings and off premises when there is a complaint or problem. Plenty of other gyms in the area, join one of them!

A cheating gym that attracts people with offers and then delete the benefits of what you signed for after a couple of months with a 2 weeks notice (because they took care to not put it in your contract). You're not happy? Answer of the customer service -> You can go somewhere else (after paying a cancelling fee...)Also, it does not have a swimming pool unlike they display on the pictures.Obviously I do NOT recommend this place...

Came from out of town and needed a gym to work out and ended up here. I thought that the gym was in pretty good shape and had plenty of equipment. Although it was busy it was not any busier or more packed than any LA Fitness or other gym I've had to go to during peak hours so this did not really bother me. All of the other members were very courteous while working out and pretty much everyone reracked their weights properly which was something I was very impressed with!!! Will go back here if I need to get a good lift in while on the road again!

The worst gym experience I have ever had in 7+ years. Signed up under a 10 day money back guarantee promise publicly advertised. Cancelled my membership within 2 days because of unsanitary conditions and overcrowding. 2 months later, I still have not received my money back. Not only that, but now they claim that they never received a cancellation notice and have tried to charge my credit card for further payment, even though I signed a cancellation notice in person at the gym.If you look on the Better Business Bureau for their parent company, New York Sports Clubs, you will find a D- rating for them, with a failure to respond to 159 complaints and only negative reviews written for them. Simply put, this place is not worth your time and money, and deserves nothing less than to be a shut down and have a class action lawsuit placed against them. Please, do not do what I did - listen to your better judgement and do not go here.

This gym is great. Most machines have a duplicate, which really helps during busy hours after work. Equipment is in fine shape - there may be some wear on the pads, but functionally everything works, and that's the only thing that really matters. Plenty of free weights, 4 flat benches, 2 inclined. Could use an extra squat rack to be totally fair.Staff is courteous and friendly. They do charge a fee for cancellation, but why would you cancel you gym membership? It's supposed to be a lifetime commitment, not a two month effort. There is a huge parking lot, which makes it easy to stop by for a quick lift after work.Did I mention I got my membership for $20 a month? That's a deal.

It's a small space with outdated machines. It doesn't get very crowded, so you usually have your picks of machines/equipment. They have a basketball court which is unique -- many of the other BSCs in Boston do not have that.

The sales staff is rude and pushy. They're paid by commission and will lie and manipulate if it helps them make a sale. Ignore the never-ending best-sales-I've-ever-seen that they'll push on you. It's a trick. When I tried to cancel my membership, they conveniently stopped responding to my emails, the manager was somehow never to be found, and they went back on a promise a salesman had made me to get me to buy in the first place (The promise being that I could cancel, given that I moved far enough away, which I did.)Avoid at all costs.

I have much of the same experience with the sales staff that every other user has with this facility. I originally joined about a year ago when 59.99 was the the cheapest month to month rate. Under this rate I had to pay a what I thought was a lowest price guarantee fee once a year in January, which I believe was 40 or 50 dollars. For my first 5 or 6 months the gym was in pretty good shape. The equipment was kept up and I never noticed any problems with equipment breaking or tears in pads. At around the point when they started offering new cheaper memberships I have noticed a severe decrease in quality of equipment. Every machine pad seems to have a tear in it, at least 1 out of every 5 cardio equipment machines is broken, and I would say almost all of the cardio equipment make a harsh screeching noise when they run that I assume is from dust and dirt build up inside the machine. In the past 2-3 months I have noticed the dirt to really build up in this gym. It is bad when you notice the same piece of trash in the same spot as yesterday or you can see the dust on the fans and hvac vents. When the membership amounts changed I attempted to talk to a manager, but during the time there plans where changing every week so, either I was given wrong information multiple times about fees and cost or the management didn't really know what was going on. Around memorial day I decided to really attempt to change my plan because I am paying 2x what they are now charging for the same membership. I attempted to change my membership for 6 days in a row. Each day I was either told the manager was not there or after having a new manager attempt to change my members and failed I gave up. I even ask what time a manager could help would be there the next day. I was given a time window and when I showed up the manager had already gone home early that day. After attempting to change my membership many times on multiple occasions I have decided that I am just going to wait till my year is up so I do not incur multiple fees. (1 for early termination and another for being a "new customer")This really is the only decent size gym in the area and they have a large amount of free weights, equipment, and if you can find one that doesn't make a horrible noise, cardio equipment. It is a shame that the management team is so terrible.
