Helpful staff, great machines. Could offer monthly memberships to improve.

Great staff, good price, but could use new bars for the bench press as they're very loose, and maybe swap out some of the lesser used machines.

Great working out location, especially with the downtown Rochester feel and a quick walk in the park by Paint Creek River and Trail. Mix nature with a solid workout... Yoga is good here, too!

Updated review: after a unpleasant tour experience, I decided to go with a different gym, but the owner, very kindly, got in touch with me and explained the situation. I am happy to see that things are being improved and clients do matter at this location. It is possible that either me or my husband will return to Retro later. Thank you!

Great new gym in downtown Rochester. They have 4 different membership plans to choose from. Smoothie counter and dry sauna are great add ons. I personally feel that their TEAM membership is a bit overpriced considering that the drop-in fee for those classes is $5/class.

Overall great facility. On my first visit I was introduced to Jim (manager). He gave me the grand tour. He’s clearly well versed on the equipement and proud of the quality of the gym. Overall a very pleasant person to talk with. Zero pressure to join or buy personal training. The equipment here seems completely new. I didn’t see a single tear in any of the upholstery on the equipment and benches. The cardio equipment seems top notch as well. I prefer the elliptical and this is the first time I encountered the ‘Octane’ brand of machines. I’ve used them a dozen times now and my feet don’t get numb like they do on the life fitness versions. There are also many other types of unique cardio machines, but I haven’t tried them yet.I haven’t had the time to use the free weights yet but it seems well stocked. There is only one half rack. They have two of the new smith machine type things (with horizontal and vertical guides) but I think I’d prefer they have two half racks and one of these machines. One thing to note is that the fancy jungle gym type stuff seen on their website and in the photos is only available when working with a personal trainerThe men’s washroom is spotless. The showers are clean. There is a sauna, but I haven’t used it or peaked inside. This facility does not provide towels, but you can get a small hand towel near the front desk.

I left a review before, which I deleted, after my wife and I received poor treatment from a previous manager. Since then, Jim Ciotti, the new manager has dealt very kindly and professionally with us. My wife and I are very pleased with how our situation was handled, and the amount of respect and understanding Jim showed us. This is a really nice place to train and now they have the proper staff in place to go along with it.
