I religiously come to this gym because it is right by my house, they just put all brand new equipment in and it sticks by its motto “judgement free zone” all kinds of people from all backgrounds come here and since the new employees came in the gym is much cleaner. I have never had a bad experience and will continue my 3 year membership. Other than the fact that I wish it had some machines other expensive gyms have ( although it has similiar machines that target the same areas) I believe this gym does provide an extensive amount of equipment. The $25 I pay a month is well worth it!P.S. the New Britain gym has a light therapy machine too!!! 😊

This is my favorite planet fitness thus far , it’s always clean and the staff is attentive and friendly . I’d give 5 stars if it wasn’t for their general manager. Elisabeth is very rude , does not know how to properly communicate with members and or employees and it seems all she does is sit behind the desk to talk smack about several employees with other employees very loudly might I add (I witnessed about 20 minutes of this while I walked on the treadmill) . Very unprofessional and left a bad taste in my mouth .

Overall the gym is nice and so is the staff. However don’t sign up if you’re not in it for the long haul. The cancellation process is atrocious. I had to jump through way too many hoops to get mine canceled. Certified letters, emails, and phone calls. They didn’t cancel the first time I requested it. Had to try and cancel on 4 separate occasions. Also good luck trying to discuss it with a manager. Seems like they are never there or sick. I did eventually get my membership canceled but had to jump through a maze of hoops to do it.

Clean place.nice atmosphere to build some muscle and lose the fat

So far one of the best Planet fitness. I live in Naugatuck but i work on Stamford so I go twice a week to the Stamford facility and it’s disgusting. Please keep the bathroom clean as always.

I usually come to this gym all the time. The staff is friendly and it’s right by my house. Today I had the most unpleasant encounter with someone claiming to be the “general manager” who I’ve never seen before. I scanned in my membership key tag as usual and was told I could not work out unless I showed my I.d. which has never happened before. I pay for a black card each month which allows me to bring a guest. She was also denied entry after scanning her guest pass which again, has never happened before. The “general manager” claimed it showed my guest as a minor in the system. My guest is in fact 21 and has been to this gym with me several times. It blows my mind that PF has no problem taking my money each month but had the right to deny a paying member. I was told I could not workout without my I.D and that it was her staff’s fault for not asking me for my I.D. in the past. I plan to look further into this as this is not good customer service.Edit: was able to work out at Derby, CT PF with no problem. The manager looked up my information as well as my guest’s with no problem and stated that it clearly showed her birthday and she was not listed as a minor. I was also advised to look into this matter as it was strange for the Naugatuck “manager” to turn me away with a made up reason.

This is a great location, the only issues I've ever had, and what has caused me to look for other gyms recently is the lack of bench/squat racks. Other than this issues its 5 stars. There are no free weight bench areas, unlike the waterbury location which has 4 free weight bench racks. The squat racks at naugatuck, of which they have 4, dual purpose as a one size fits all for bench, squat, hip thrusts area, and whatever else people want to do except for what theyre supposed to be used for... bench and squat. Time and time again, Ive come in to people doing weird work outs on these machines that could be done elsewhere. Cmon man. Get some more bench racks and put em in that yoga area.

Overall good location. It's close to home and the hours of operation are great.
