I was told that in order to cancel my membership, I had to wait until November, but that each month I froze my membership due to covid, it would extend my membership by one month. Now I've been charged a yearly renewal fee AND have to wait until January to cancel. I feel like I'm going through a hostile divorce. Absolutely ridiculous.

Worst gym ever Planet Fitness is such a thief. They had me sign up to pay $10 per month yet they keep taking $25 and more every month. Today when I call this facility to tell them about the overcharge. The employee that answered the phone told me how no money was in my account and what they are charging me is late fees. This is a lie as 7 days ago I had money in my account and my card was never locked and they keep overcharging me every month.

The gym is mostly clean and whatnot; probably not as clean as it should be in regards to COVID. People are right when they say the equipment is not maintained. Most importantly, make sure you contact somebody from corporate for membership policies. Every worker here gave me a different answer about canceling and renewing a membership.

Let me start with saying how I love coming to a nice quite gym, but lately they have been really driving me nuts with their equipments, truthfully I don’t don’t think the staff members use those treadmills, the traction on those belts are almost none existent. I have been a trainer and a professional athlete for most of my life, I raised the concern to an employee on staff and the best response I got was “I wear good shoes and I’m fine” no let’s be real, I know “good and bad shoes” utilized gyms all over the states and the world I know a worn down tread, to believe that the acknowledgment I got was to wear better shoes was a complete insult. They need to better maintain their equipments and be a little bit more pleasant. I have been to planets fitness gyms in numerous places and I must say the winner of the most poorly maintained facility is right here on new haven road in Naugatuck.FYI that advise came from the guy name Josh at the front desk. Absolute joke.

Do not get a membership here, unless you plan to have the membership until you die. Even then, the membership will probably continue. The employees (even management) don’t follow through with what they say that they are going to do (three different people assured me that my membership was canceled, but it wasn’t, before it was actually canceled). Also, there are not free-moving squat racks or bench presses. Pay the extra bit of money for a small-town gym.

They are so terrible+ they’re scammers, and so rude. I was trying to cancel my membership, and they told me I have to be a cancellation fee, but I told they I was told that if I do a black card membership I won’t get charged. The manager on the speaker told the rude front desk who was talking to his girlfriend while trying to serve costumers “ do not believe him”.It is a trash gym, and in their dreams they will get a cancellation fee from me

Not happy that Plant Fitness is letting teenagers from 14 on in the gym for free for the summer! Sometimes the gym is crowded with kids especially on the machines, it makes it hard to wait to use especially when their friends gather around and bs. We are paying customers and we can't get to the machines. They should if anything come specific hours so paying customers can feel they have use of the machines!

So many negative reviews! Let’s be serious, this is a BUDGET GYM. Want a top notch experience? Go pay for it. This place is clean enough and well enough maintained to get $11/month from me. Plenty of cardio equipment and decent strength equipment. I’d consider 5 stars if they got some rowing machines and repurposed the black card area - what a waste of space!More feedback to the negative reviews….want to cancel? Read the instructions on the contract you signed. Want better customer service and fitness advice? Go spend $50+/month.

I’ve been coming here every morning since March. The gym is usually not crowded which is cool. But other than that it’s gross. Half the machines are down, they don’t have nearly enough equipment for the amount of people who come to this gym. I’m about to switch to LA Fitness and drive the 20 minutes from my house everyday…. Whoever owns this place, let’s put a little more pride in the way our gym looks considering you must have hundreds of customers paying $30+ a month to workout here….

I do feel they could do more for covid guidelines. They are not cleaning the equipment when the members aren't doing it. I have seen them using a duster on the machines while thinking it would be best to sanitize them instead.
