DON'T get a membership with this company. They over charge my account about a month ago. I called 3 times before been able to get "my money" back. waited 30 mins for them to figure out why I got over charge. They still didn't tell me why, I ask for the manager never spoke to him. Its been a month since that NO money has been return. They said it takes 10 business days. well it's more then 10 business days and I still don't have my money. I called different times, days the manager is never available. They still don't know how much my return is. Honestly there is so many other gyms around the area, avoid yourself a headache!

I love this gym. There is plenty of equipment. There are also many different type of exercises. All the other members are friendly. The best part is you don't have to be fully muscled out to go here. Members are of many different levels of fitness, and have many different goals. I've never been a gym type guy, but that is changing, and this gym is one of the reasons why.

Extremely dishonest business practices at this location. I would avoid at all costs and find a different gym to go to. I made it clear I wanted my membership to be short term (< 3 months) and was assured multiple times by their "salesman" of a customer service rep that they could offer me an "exception" to their usual sign-up so I could pay month-by-month. When it was time to cancel my membership, it was when I was told I was signed up for a 12-month contract and it would cost me $200 to terminate because I had not been a member for 6 months. Furthermore, when I joined at the middle of the month, my rate wasn't even prorated because they bill the first of the month. You shouldn't have to feel like going into a car dealership with the sleazy business practices that go on in this place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!UPDATE: the response from the "owner" below is a complete farce. I sent multiple emails to the manager below and he never got back to me. Appallingly horrendous customer service at all levels of this organization. Gold's Gym will never get a penny of my money again.

I can't say enough great things about this gym. The sign up process was painless and they explained everything to me. I even had them repeat a few things, and the patiently did until I fully understood everything. I definitely did NOT get the impression that they we're trying to pull a fast one. Since signing up, it's been a great experience! Walking through the doors, I'm always greeted with a warm smile and pleasant hello. The perks to having a membership here are amazing! Definitely sign up for their email program! I'm constantly getting emails for free this, complimentary that, and tons of discounts!Getting in to the actual gym. The equipment is very well kept. They are very quick to make repairs if any are needed. I'm usually working out with either cables or free weights, or in the turf area. I rarely find that the weight set I need or equipment I'm looking for isn't available. They've got some great classes and a pool if you're into that sort of thing too. It is DEFINITELY at least worth stopping by and taking a tour! A little information never hurts, right?

The gym is quite new, but the service is horrible. When u are signing up a membership, they waste tons of time trying to cheat you into buying more than you needed even for the membership only. They don't place the price on website or put a high price there, the true price will never appear unless you walk out the gym, by then they call u back.Such a waste of time...They promised me one months free membership if signing up, but they still took the money from my credit card.

Staff is rude. Often has problems with hot water, streamroom temp, jacuzzi temp & equipment failure. Equipment out of order for two weeks before complaining. Signed up for one price includes everything so the manager said. So not true. Deducted from Acct without my knowledge. Explanation from management was the manager said he was incorrect to state everything included. But would not honor his statement. They lie to your face to get the sale.

I've recently signed up with Gold's Gym (Montclair). I pay $ 20 a month plus a yearly fee of $ 3o-ish. The Gym is very clean. The atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. Compared to most of the Gyms in the area, Gold's Gym in Montclair has the most to offer in terms of equipment selection, and for my fitness goals, this was the selling point because I need to be able to do things in a very controlled manner with options for both compound and isolation exercises. The staff is very friendly for the most part. I haven't encountered the "I'm better than you because I lift" persona as you see in so many other Gyms. Also, the Gym's community is very broad. People with a wide range of fitness goals attend here. Given their reputation, I had originally thought that the Gym would be overrun with "elitist" types, however, this isn't the case.Overall, at least in the area, I've personally visited a number of Gyms including my previous membership club (LA Fitness). This Gold's Gym in Montclair seems to have the most to offer, and at least for me, the pricing doesn't seem unreasonable ($ 20 a month isn't bad and is pretty standard in the industry). On a side note, and I hate to do this, while I had a Gym membership with LA fitness for years, when I moved to Upland Ca, I was extremely disappointed with the LA fitness located in the Monclair Plaza. It was dirty and lacked equipment suitable to my preference. Furthermore, when a fellow member tried to bully her way in reserving several machines because "muh sets" -- the staff did little to nothing about it. They didn't even have a policy for the situation. Long story short, you shouldn't be able to reserve several machines by placing your junk on it, and if you do, Gym policy along with management should check this sort of behavior.

This place may look nice but I wouldn't let them fool you. They treat their employees like dirt, put them in danger and risk of injury, overwork them and even verbally insult employees. I have worked for several gyms and this place was by far the WORST. I wouldn't support this place if my life depended on it.Honestly, they don't even deserve a star but since I must put one, they are lucky enough to even get that.If you are ever seeking employment here... RUN FOR THE HILLS. You're better off cleaning toilets! As a member I wouldnt support a place where they treat their employess like trash. HR isn't even the slightest bit helpful. Do NOT waste your time here.

Completely dissatisfied. After refusing numerous times in getting a gym membership, the person assisting me kept telling me I'll see what I can do by, "talking to his manager" in getting me a good deal. He kept "talking to his manager," every time I said, NO, until I got a good deal. Just a heads up, don't say YES in the first offer!!!!! Staff definitely are welcoming and treat people great but to just some not everyone.
