Always clean, courteous staff, well trained instructors, great selection of classes and workout equipment. I have been going for over 2 years and find of the "Big" gyms this one is the best. for years. Management is always helpful. Any minor concerns I have encountered, Tony the manager has always resolved it quickly and professionally. The are all very kind; an amazing experience working out here and the classes are fun.

It's never busy, but probably 'cause it smells like an animal shelter. Full of people that don't know gym etiquette. NO BRUH YOU CAN'T RESERVE A BENCH FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GYM, I DON'T CARE THAT YOU NEED TO WORK OUT YOUR TRICEPS TOO. Also, no hot dudes to check out.

Are most of these negative reviews from competing gyms? My wife and I have been going for a year now, and we don't understand most of these bizarre negative reviews. It's a great gym, tiny problems, nowhere is perfect.

Always clean and friendly. I read some of the negative complaints and for those people who agree well plenty of smaller gyms that are less expensive ie crunch, fitness 19 or 24 hour. Having gone to 24 and seen crunch you get what you pay for. Golds may not be for everyone but if you want great equipment, amenities and a clean gym then this is the place for you.

I went to this place and never again will I come here even if they gave me free membership. Sales person was so rude, childish and chose the worst sales scripts ever.. hahahahaha. He even had the nerves to ask my wife " when you look yourself in the mirror, do you like what you see?" He asked her not once but four times. He is very lucky I'm not violet other wise I would of been in jail.. After we told him that we were going to think about it, he flipped and told use that why did we even waist his time? Mind you that we were very precise in letting him know that we were there just to look for pricing and to see the gym before we made a decision. The moment I knew we walked into the wrong place was when he started mad talking about 24 hour fitness. "oh I use to work there and trust me people that work there don't clean, they don't care of customers, all the 24 hour fitness are very durty. I don't know how you were able to work out on those gym's." Enough said ... i wrote a letter to corporate office and they told me that this place was a franchise and that they were going to forward the complaint to that owner; well guess what never got a call nor a letter or email. I give them a 1 star just because at the time the place had just opened so yes everything looked clean.

I liked the gym. It was always clean, broken equipment was repaired promptly which is unusual for a gym. If you go on a routine basis you'll see people team up and work out regularly and motivate each other. I liked what I saw.My only complaint is the staff. It wasn't clear to some that I wanted to be left alone largely and it created some tension. Eventually they did which was cool.

Great cleaning staff everything was always well organized and cleaned, but that's the only good thing about this gym. They will constantly harass you to sing up for trainers and good luck trying to cancel your policy. They'll make you jump through hoops and hit you with fees even after your contract is done.

I had a 24 fitness membership month to month and decided to check out golds a month or so after they opened. The place was spotless and all the equipment is brand new, the locker rooms are top of the line and the showers and the salesman who showed us around was a good dude and wasn't pressuring us to join and actually offered to let me join for 10$ less a month than I was paying at 24 hour fitness. Over a year later and the place is still immaculate, the cleaning staff there keep the place looking great and do an amazing job keeping everything extremely clean. The staff is extremely friendly and there's always small and large towels available.

Very good customer service ,very clean they always have people keeping it clean. I used to go to LA fitness and wow what a big diffference on maintaining the place clean and the customer service. Golds Gym is much more better. I just hope they maintain the same.

BAIT AND SWITCH! My husband went down to Golds Gym Montclair to see how much membership was. He spent an hour with the sales guy and the manager and they worked out a deal with him for $39.99 for a family plan and $59.99 Membership Fee to start.Later that day I joined my husband and went down to sign the paperwork. They took my $69.99 Membership fee, explaining that they messed up on the initial quote and it would be $69.99 instead of $59.99. Kind of felt like it was Bait and Switch right away, but it was only $10, so I agreed. I should have known better. Then they asked us to sign a computer screen for the contract. We didn't actually sign any paperwork, it was a signature line on a screen, but you can't actually see what you are signing for. So I asked SEVERAL times if what I'm signing is for $39.99 a month for my family (which is me and my husband) or is it $39.99 each. The sales guy confirmed SEVERAL TIMES it was for the family, not each. He then notified us that we would get the 7 Day Free Pass. Which was fine because our billing was 7 days later on the 1st.My first bill comes 7 days later and it's two charges of $39.99. So it's either a mistake in billing or it's bait and switch because we both verified with them that it was for the family and not each.We call Troy, our sales guy and he doesn't even want to discuss it with us. He gives us the phone number to ADC Financial who takes care of membership billing. So we call them and they notify us that to cancel the agreement they will charge us $200 and keep all the money we already paid. So basically that means pay $350 total for a supposedly 7 Day Free Pass.Every time I call to talk to a manager, I'm told that she is in a meeting. REALLY?! Every time?!I should have read all of the negative reviews on here before going in to sign up.
