Misleading pricing structure. They claim to have a 'month-to-month' membership but they don't - there's a cancellation fee if you cancel before 6 months, or so I was told. They also charge around $50 extra one you've been there 2 months - what it's for depends on who you ask, I've been told it's an 'equipment maintenance fee', 'equipment replacement fee' and 'rate guarantee fee' alternately. This is in addition to the initial registration fee. I don't have a problem with the pricing structure, as a business they need to make money and if this is how they want to structure it that's fine - but they should be more transparent upfront. I felt very misled by their advertising.

The salesmen are deceptive about fees. They randomly charged us an annual fee when a month by month membership and are very opaque about what you are being charged and why. Apparently it is buried in the contract, so read it very carefully and don't expect the salesman to shed any light on it. Trying to call them to get an explanation for the fees was a total waste of time and their 'customer service' is a complete joke. If you're considering a gym membership, do yourself a favor and find a more honest company.

I have loved coming here for over a year. I’m really disappointed on the behavior of some your members in a certain area of your gym. I am deeply saddened that it has come to this. I love your staff and how they’ve supported me and I love the progress I’ve made there. I plan to avoid that area which is important to my rehab and will have to do it at another location so that I can feel safe and happy again. I’m not saying that you’ve handled it wrong. It’s some of your members and too many experiences that make it hard for me to do what I need to do.

Switched from Planet Fitness to here a few months ago because it's closer to my home and they have a pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub that planet fitness does not. I hear this is one of the most run down locations. I havent been to any others. It is over crowded most of the time due to popularity and a great location but my wife and I are happy members mainly because they dont judge you like planet fitness does. The locker rooms could stand to be cleaned more often, more lower weight dumbbells can be put in, equipment can be fixed faster or better yet replaced (lots of old failing equipment) I heard it was wise to replace equipment every 3 to 5 years. They can stand to clean the floor in the steam room as well. Dont think it's been cleaned since we started going here. Also there seems to be random kids playing in the pool and womens locker room. Kind of strange when they are between 5 and 10yrs old.But for what it is despite those things we really appreciate the front desk staff and their hard work and friendliness. This place still rocks in our opinion and they have childcare as well as a GNC style supplement store with smoothies!!!This location does not have tanning but they have a "beaches" tanning salon right next door

I've been coming here for years, since it was Gold's. If it wasn't for my prepaid membership and the fact that it's 3 minutes from home, I'd cancel today. Every time I come, which is 4 days a week, for the last 3 months, many things are broken.1: the hot tub is either totally out of service for days or it's a Luke warm tub. And I mean cool enough for an infant.2: The women's and men's locker room had a broken swimsuit spinning device for 2 months. The women's no longer has one, the men's is just broken.3: The Cardio Cinnema room has been broken for a week4. 3 Treadmills " that I noticed" are NOT working.5. One of the machines for working the pecs has been broken since I can remember and works the left side more.6. Weights are missing and I'm always having to go on a hunt.7. The sauna smells like a--, looks like it doesn't get disinfected EVER.8. the tiles in steam room are growing calcium and lime on them.9. This place is busy so if you don't time your workout right, you may be waiting for a machine or time in the pool for laps.10. Tell the staff about problems, they say, "I just work here".These are just some of the problems.I found a heroin bag in women's locker room. " I know what they look like".So, what is our semi Annual maintenance fee for?Why does the gym close at 10:00 pm on Saturday nights?Why does it not open until 8:00 am on Sunday and close at 4:00pm Sunday?They say it is for cleaning and maintenance. Well, they should fire their cleaning and maintenance staff cause they sure aren't doing their jobs! Either that, our money is being pocketed by corperate.Needless to say, we will be complaining to corperate. Next time I go in, I'll be taking pictures of everything I find that is not in proper working order and posting it for review.If you are looking for a gym membership, I advise looking elsewhere or at least avoiding this location. Sadly, this place has turned into a dump.I'm hoping management does something to get this place fixed fast!

I like the gym. But can't I work out without being constantly harassed with personal phono calls and emails to leave reviews? Like I don't care about taking a free class. I just want to workout.The equipment is nice and the staff are friendly. The media room is a big plus. It's fun getting to watch a movie and run at the same time.

This gym would be 5 stars if they could just get people to RERACK THEIR WEIGHTS. Seriously - great location, great price, awesome equipment. But because they never enforce clean-up, people just leave weights all over the floor and on the machines. What are women who can’t move six 45-lb plates off the squat rack supposed to do? I’m going to cancel my membership if this doesn’t improve, because it’s ruining the gym experience to have to get an extra workout just moving and dodging other peoples’ mess.

The salesman that sold me on a monthly membership told me there was not an annual fee like the previous gym I had a subscription to. This month I was hit with an unexpected 50$ annual fee, customer service was able to give me 1 month credit to my account, this helps but I can only imagine the frustration from someone who had been lied to about annual fees that had signed up for the 10$ a month plan. They claim the annual fee is to keep your sub fees locked in place but when the annual fee is 5 months membership cost how can you justify that? With how readily the lowly customer service rep was to give me a free month I can only assume that this is a often occurrence. Is it the salesmen lying to get a sale, is it management training them poorly or purposefully telling their employees to lie about the annual fee? No longer can trust any employee from that location.I would have given this location 1 star but they do have plenty of varying weights that you can push and pull to your hearts content, can't say much for the machines as a lot of them are broken or make unnerving noises when you use them (grinding, popping, whining). Every treadmill sounds like it has a worn out bearing that is ready to let go at anytime.I used to assemble and repair exercise equipment as a day job and I can tell you there isn't a whole lot that can fail on them, replacement parts are cheap and take minutes to replace. If you need someone to maintain your equipment I would love to help out, I work for a competitive price and I promise there aren't any hidden fees I'll lie about.

I go to the West Jordan location. I like this location best because it seems less crowded than some of the others. Mondays after work is the most crowded I've seen, Sundays the least crowded. I like the theater room and the dry sauna they have here. The equipment is generally clean and functioning. I haven't tried the classes. I hate that they've blocked off a huge area for trainers because it seems to have reduced the number of machines from what they used to have. And I hate the yearly $50 charge, but other than that I think it's a good gym that's more geared towards actually working out than being social.
