I had scheduled an spa appointment for 2 for a birthday a few weeks in advance just to have someone cancel on me in the last minute 45 minutes before. I am so upset and will never be booking a spa appointment here again. It’s extremely unprofessional to wait until the last minute when we were ready to get on the way there. I’d I could give them 0 stars I would, never going back there.

I feel like I was cheated out of my money. I received a wax from the spa at there sports club location in Boston and the woman was great but had missed some spots leaving hair patches. I didn’t notice right away but called to speak with the manger to ask for a refund since I couldn’t make it in-person for them to fix and she rudely declined and said she wouldn’t refund me. I offered to send her pictures as proof but again she declined. I emailed the general manager, Curtis Duffy, to express his coworker‘s lack of professionalism and he chose to be condescending and take her side without contacting me to hear my complaint. He also continued to insinuate that it was my fault for the situation, suggesting that I go somewhere else to get my services done. As a paying customer that is beyond unprofessional. Curtis the GM was unethical the way he handled the situation that I wouldn’t even bother joining there gym.

I wish I read all the negative reviews before coming here. What a waste of money and time. This spa is NOT associated with the Ritz--even though the Ritz promotes them directly on their website. I don't know why. It's the worst place to ever get a massage, with horrible staff that are lazy and incompetent. DO NOT COME HERE if you value your money and massages!

Amazing gym.. On my mini business trip up to Boston I stopped here and it was great. 5 star juice bar top notch equipment. Manager also let me work out for free for the day even though he didn't have to. Top of the line club. They have a Wegman's connected as well cant beat that.

Rachael K. was so helpful while giving me a tour of the gym and getting my membership set up. I honestly don’t think I would’ve purchased extra Pilates classes if it hadn’t been for her! Amazing at her job and super knowledgeable about Equinox and all the best features. She was able to give me a few recommendations and personalized my membership to suit my needs, which I’m super grateful for. If you’re going to purchase a membership or want to find out more, I would definitely ask for Rachael.

Hands down the BEST Equinox in Boston for too many reasons to name. I frequent other Boston locations and none come close to the Avery St. location. The best part is the spaciousness -- the lobby, the locker rooms, the weights area, the cardio area, the stretching areas, the roof deck... It's amazing how much space there is compared to other locations. The towels are soft and absorbent, nothing is every broken down or in need of repair, all the equipment is in the best shape, and the instructors are very personable and motivating. For all the amenities you receive as a member, it is VERY easy to justify the price of a membership.

The gym is fine however the service was terrible. Matthew at the desk is awful. We were let in three times to go to the gym and the third time Matthew did not let us in I would not recommend going to this gym. Or dealing with Matthew. The first three times we went we were asked to have an adult just sign us in but Matthew didn’t let the adult sign us in and kept on stating this is an adults club even though there were many people my age at the gym.

Overwhelmingly underwhelmed with my experience visiting equinox as part of my stay at the adjacent hotel. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, and the morning manager Matt had a bad attitude when asked for standard information. I was told by the staff that they only accepted cash and were unable to process credit card payments to book a squash court, which is insane in 2022 at a supposedly state of the art fitness company. The racquets they had on loan were pretty beat up so I would recommend packing your own if you want to play squash

They decided to cancel spa appointments we had make weeks in advance last minute (literally within the hour, as we were going to said appointment), then promptly hang up. That is the quality of treatment and service you can expect from this alleged “luxury” facility. Unacceptable employee and management performance for the cost of membership. Do yourself a favor and avoid this gym. Go to literally any other gym in the area, including any other Equinox, just not this one.

It’s a well built gym with tons of different machines for everyone and the staff are friendly. However, they are very bait when it comes to anything related to money. They have initiation fees, pause fees, and even require a 30 day prior notice before cancellation without any notice. The first problem I experienced was when it was during the month of Ramadan, where I had to fast and with work as a student, going to the gym would be impossible. When I requested to have it paused, my account manager said that it wouldn’t be a problem. But without any notice, they just charged me with some amount. After talking to the manager they had it refunded. The second problem I experienced was when I had to focus on my education and wanted to cancel the subscription. I requested the cancellation a week prior and my account manager kept stalling and asking me random questions and when it was finally time for the next month transaction, I was connected to the general manager and was informed that my last day is a month from then. After asking my manager about why there was a transaction even though I asked for it be canceled, I never got a response again. My third problem was when I contacted customer support after 3 weeks because I’ve had midterms and was unable to follow up. I was told over and over again that the club did me a “favor” since cancellation cannot happen until after a year of being a regular. What???? Keep in mind I sent over 4 text messages and 3 emails regarding the situation and the only response I received was “it’ll be affected until __ because there’s 30 day cancellation policy” which was 3 weeks after my first request. As mentioned, very money-grabbing attitudes by the staff, which wasn’t visible in the beginning. As much as I enjoyed the gym atmosphere and my workout routine there, I will not be coming back again due to these problems.
