I am a member at Planet Fitness in Belmont. I witnessed the General Manager being rude, disrespectful, condescending to a member! This was an absurd display of someone trying to use their authority to belittle a member who asked 5 times to have his son added because she said the summer program had ran out. It was so bad she had employees trying g to step infront of her to help take care of the member. Then the member was whispering to his son and she went at him again and told him she would call the police if he didn't apologize, and trust me there was no reason for him to apologize. He asked over and over and over to please take him through the process to make sure he was compliant to no avail. Then she asked for payment and he very nicely pulled up his account information, tried to hand it to her and she then turned away from him and asked her Supervisor on duty to take his payment information.I observed this from the stepper machine I was on and it made me so angry at how she was acting I wanted to cancel all of our accounts and go somewhere else. Her name is JEANNE, the associate who was so nice and trying to actually help the member was Hayleigh.

The equipment is excellent, the price is very reasonable , the staff is friendly and the facility is always clean.Unfortunately, they cater to a younger clientele who, interestingly enough, aren't usually found there. As such, MTV or its equivalent blares continuously and even 25 decibel noise cancelling headsets rarely do an effective the job of eliminating that cacophony. To their credit, the volume seems to have been reduced more recently, at least at times when there is a manager on duty.Today, August 22nd, 2023 and on other occasions I have asked the Planet Fitness manager what penalties apply to someone resting on equipment and using his mobile While others are waiting. She explained that none apply here in spite of the rules. Actually, they do:2.5 star rating.

Clean and a huge selection of equipment.

Large variety of machines and cleanliness.

Horrible communication at the store level. Spoke to the manager about a billing issue and all I got was rebuffed. When I asked to speak to the regional manager, I was refused. I’m canceling my membership.

Staff are low key, friendly and the facility is very clean and inviting.

They constantly have people taking up machines for a half hour at a time, playing on phones, not working out. The employees defend this behavior and do nothing to stop it. Management doesn’t care either. Some of us don’t have unlimited time to screw around at the gym, I guess many people at planet don’t fall into that category. If there was another competitor anywhere near this place would be out of business. They refuse to call out any bad behavior, instead pissing off people doing things the right way who just want to get a good workout in under an hour. If you are under 50 and serious about working out I would highly advise not going here.

Always clean! I go at a time where I don’t have to wait for machines. I get in, get my workout done and then I’m out!The only thing missing is the Planet Fitness Shake Shop. Nothing like a good protein shake after you workout!

Planet Fitness makes it very difficult to cancel a membership. We moved to a different state and the only options were to visit the location where we originally signed up or write a letter. My wife did write a letter for us both....I signed mine....her membership cancelled, mine did not. Luckily we were back in the state for a visit and I was able to go to the original location to cancel after being charged for an additional 2 months. Consider this situation before joining.

It's been very nice so far. Easy to check-in, nice machines that all work. Good temperature. What more do you need?
