If I could give it a negative rating I would. Had a horrible experience trying to enjoy an hour of tennis. When I reported incident to front desk, lady was rude and unhelpful. I called to further express my concerns with “manager” was basically told off by what sounded like a high school kid, no logic and zero people skills. No apologies, no solution to an unsafe and ridicules situation. Unprofessional staff and clearly no member service. As an experienced CEO and ex pro athlete I have never experienced anything like this. I would not recommend this place to anybody, don’t waste your time or your money.

Just left there... Absolutely love the gym. But the young lady with the short hair at the front desk is extremely rude. I've been with Genesis for over 10 year's. Actually when it was called 24 hour fitness. I've been going to this particular gym since it had boxing rings in it. I own a business close to this gym and frequent this gym. The level of service that I received today was unacceptable.

I am very disappointed in the security that is provided by the Genesis on Frontage road in Merriam. While inside working out our car was broken into as was the car next to ours. The windows were busted out and items were stolen out of it. They have zero security cameras and apparently this is a known problem as it has happened before. This happened at 5 o'clock in the daylight. I expressed my concern for my safety as a female entering and exiting the gym. If this can happen during the day what happens at night? The advice I got was " it's probably best if you park in the front".

I was trying to sign in as I have been going to this gym for months and she kept trying to sell me another upgraded membership instead of letting me work out. She was extremely rude and I am a paying customer. I just walked away and went to a different club.

It's hard to give this gym more than a onestar review. Beware of the people dressed up! I did witness them harass the employee and fire her for no reason. They think it's OK to protest and harass others while they are working out. Which is clearly against the law. The management there trys to silence people when legitimate complaints are bieng made. One morning while I was working out a car speed out of the hotel next to this gym with no wheel and had a shootout with the police. It's very common to see gang members fly colors here as well. There are transparency laws to prohibit people from lying.

Pretty good gym, but it's not my favorite. Has a good amount of squat racks and enough dumbbells. My only complaint is, Genesis as a whole are crooks. Over charging for what you get and they buy everyone else out around town, basically forcing you to go there, if you want to workout. I'll join elsewhere in the future, when there's an option.

I read every one star review in the last year. Literally none of those reviews even accurately reflect what is actually going on in the gym and at this facility.It is not a five-star personalized service where everything needs to be done according to how you would like a gym to be ran.It is a gym with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of weightlifting equipment. Classes. Tennis courts. I would rather spend more money here than a cheaper gym like planet fitness that is always crowded.If a part of the gym or bathrooms are dirty. Yes it is the facilities responsibility to keep it clean but it is also the members duty to keep the gym accountable when things are obviously not brought to their attention.This is a great gym. With great equipment. And a nice boozy bar for you to get your drink on after a hard workout or just for a happy hour if you're feeling in for a drink.This gym gets the job done for fitness and general well-being when trying to train your body.Do not listen to the one star review that have been made before April 29th, 2022.This gym is literally 6 minutes from my house and is a great place for me to workout after work.

I come from Florida for a couple weeks every year and get most warm welcoming every time I come back. I highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area or visiting. The gym has everything you need to get an amazing workout. This gym has outstanding cleanliness and is perfect your all your needs.

I joined this club in the fall of 2018 when plans we’re hanging in the lobby of a huge upgrade and remodel happening at this club. The upgrade was going to include a pool and a much-needed refresh of all the facilities. When I joined, the representative that I worked with told me that with the remodel my membership would be upgraded with the club upgrade. That I would be grandfathered in. The remodel was finished last year and the club looks great, but it turns out the representative that signed me up wasn’t telling me the whole truth. My membership was not upgraded (to Platinum) and instead Genesis created its own membership level for this specific club. Since then, they’ve acquired other gyms in the city and closed several older locations. Almost every club they own in Kansas City is now a higher membership level than mine other than 1-2 other clubs that are at least 20-25 minutes drives from me and this club. I live 5 minutes from this location. I raised the issue with the club manager a few month ago and he essentially told me he can’t be held accountable for something a now former Genesis employee told me. The one star I’m giving is for the terrific trainers and fitness instructors. But Genesis leadership and ownership should do right by me and other members like me who joined with the promise of a new club with the ability to use other clubs at the same amenity level. At the end of the day, I feel like I was prey to a classic bait and switch.

Came in at 4:15 am on Friday 11/26 and there were no towels, left at 6:20 and still no towels. You would think that within 2 hours the young lady who had opened would have washed and folded towels. No, she sat on the counter top or at the table in the lounge. I know this tends to happen on the weekends but never during the week. Ms Landy always makes sure we have plenty of towels and disinfected spray.
