VASA Fitness

Been going to the Layton location for a couple weeks now. I really like it. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they recognize me when ai come in. The gym has all the equipment I need, even when it's been busy. The biggest surprise to me has actually been how way cool and friendly all the other members are. It just has a cool, friendly vibe all around.

I initially had an EOS membership before switching over to VASA. I’d come with a friend before and I thought it was nice, but just too many, “privileged” looking people. Especially some pretty toxic guys in the basketball court area. But after finally making a switch, I have absolutely no regrets. This gym is perfect for people who want to get in shape but don’t know where to start. I’ve met so many amazing people at this location and seen so many good friends who have given me countless pointers on how to improve. What looked like an exclusive club at first, turned into a welcoming gym family. Would definitely recommend going here!

I’ve been waiting for at least 20 minutes and the gym was closed when they supposed to open at 5 am on Saturday !!! I got there at 7 am, this is the second time that this happens , at least today were there 10 people waiting

VASA (Layton) meet Dave. This guy has been kicked out of other gyms and has a home here at the Layton VASA. I have personally witnessed him yelling out profanity to nearby patrons, not wiping down machines, and putting his weights back in addition to the picture of misusing the equipment which causes damage to the seat material. Many people have complained to management over the past 2 years and apparently his $20 a month is really important. I will even pay an extra $20 a month to see him gone. One instance included him telling a female that was a little overweight that she “didn’t belong here” and even walking by my wife saying “I don’t think so”. He has also shoulder checked a guy walking out of the bathroom as he was entering. These examples have all been reported to management to include the district manager who I talked to in person. Even taking the picture, I received “thumbs up” from other patrons because 99% of them have the same issues.This location is actually a good place to go and I enjoy the people there. But, when women cannot feel comfortable around this guy and we all have to hear him shout that “we are all a bunch of p**sy’s!”, One day someone is gonna lose it on this guy!

We joined Vasa because it has a pool and hot tub. The Layton Vasa has quit maintaining their pool and hot tub. The hot tub is utterly disgusting. My daughter was told they weren't going to clean it up because it cost too much. They told her to just go to the Kaysville location (which is always full). My daughter has Fibromyalgia and swimming is better on her joints and the hot tub helps her relax. This is nothing but laziness and unacceptable - I pay a maintenance fee like everyone else. This should be a scheduled maintenance. We will be looking to go somewhere else.After receiving a response back from Vasa saying they would have someone contact me ASAP - I still haven't heard a word from them :( This is nothing more than poor business.

Should be 0 stars. Highly unprofessional. I have never stepped foot in this gym. But some how they let minor child sign up without my knowledge. Now they sent me to collections. I'm responsible?This is the FIRST time I've had any contact with vasa.

I have been going to vasa for 5 years and I love it, but I will not be returning. The “group fitness manager” at the Layton location was very rude when a friend and I went there this afternoon to use the dance studio. Before entering the studio to meet my friend like I had done countless times before, I was confronted by the group fitness manager (before I had even walked over to the studio) with a very abrasive, unhelpful and rude attitude. My friend and I immediately left and went to a neighboring vasa and had absolutely no problems using the studio per usual. Though I do understand that the dance studios at vasa may be off limits, it was really the abrasive, confrontational and unhelpful attitude of this employee that has made it so I will not be returning to Vasa. I am a reasonable person and if I had even been greeted with a helpful and kind explaination, it would have gone a long way with me.

I went in for a work out the same day I opened my membership. Right after that, I literally got sick and I've been at home sick quarantined. Your gym is not clean. I didn't see any staff members cleaning the equipment at all. And it contributes to my health status and how I got sick. Notify manager and have people clean please. It's gross and cost me and many others health and lives to be in jeopardy.

Vasa uses a fraudulent and predatory business model to scam customers out of money. I had random charges from them twice which even their customer service couldn't explain what they were or why they were billed. I had late charges applied regularly because the billing "wouldn't go through" even though once the late fee was applied it would go through just fine, not to mention it was always billed to an empty credit card. Their 1-month required cancellation notice is designed to make you pay at the least for another month of the gym you won't use and at worst for your yearly fees etc. Finally had to bring in the Better Business Beureae to settle their nonsense.Great gym, just wish they weren't run by scam artists. They're worse than Gold's.Edit: Despite the below reply Vasa did not reach out to me nor do I want them to. I'm done with your service and warning others against it.

When I had joined I had asked about bringing guests and was told if I upgraded my membership id be able to bring in any number of guests. So I upgraded and then was told I would have to add that one specific privilege on oh and it was an addition 15$ a month on top of my upgraded membership. The person who explained this to me was kind of rude and did nothing to help. Big turn off for me.I have to keep this membership for another 6months. Not the best expierience.
