Sometimes I give the benefit of the doubt to companies that have low reviews. When I joined this gym the ratings weren’t so low. HOWEVER.I’ve been trying for a very long time to cancel my membership because I’ve moved. They want you to send a handwritten letter, certified, to cancel your membership and even then they won’t get it for 4-6 WEEKS. I’ve sent 3 now and each time they tell me they haven’t received it, and continue to charge me. Also, they don’t tell you about the $47 fee until after you’ve signed up. When I called to ask about it, they rudely told me it was in my copy of the contract... WHICH I NEVER GOT. It’s a scam. Don’t join. I’d easily give this 0 stars.

I am moving from this area. The staff informed me I needed to send a written request to cancel my membership. 30 day written notice. Also suggesting to send it certified. After receiving notice my letter was received I called to check (about 2 weeks). They had not received it yet although the lady updated my account with the tracking number. I called back 1 week later to be informed they had received it and it was now a 60 day notice. Wow. I would have loved to have this information initially. I understand it's on $10 a month but honestly - they could have told me this at the beginning of the process. Poor business practice.

STAY AWAY!!! I cancelled my membership with them about a year ago and now they sent me to collections. They advised me to mail a cancellation letter to there corporate office, which I did, and they still sent me to collections. Who doesn't accept cancellations by phone?!?!? They are cheap for a reason. This place should have stayed as World Gym!Update, they apologized for there error and since than everything has been updated with my credit report.

DON'T JOIN THIS GYM IF YOU WILL NOT BE A MEMBER FOREVER!!!!!!! Trust me, if you will never ever cancel your membership then this is the best gym ever.Common this is 2017 where everything is fast and easily accessible. Why in the world do I have to physically go to usps and mail a letter to cancel my membership. Why!!!! You never asked me to mail a letter to join. You never told me I'd have to do this when I've to cancel. This is just FRAUD. I'm moving to a place where there's no fitness connection and now I've to send 2 freaking bloody letters to cancel my membership and my personal training sessions. I'm just so angry right now. I will never have the time to go to the post office.

I'm not a big fan of this gym. I started working out here when it was still a World Gym. After fitness connect bought them out they renovated the place and painted the walls. Seemed nice at first but it changed the atmosphere completely. The equipment is new but cheap. There is a lot more socializing here than working out which isn't the type gym I want to be a member of.

They can easily let me cancel my membership online or at the facility like a normal gym that likes people, but no. You have to mail a letter somewhere with all of your information. It's not that hard, but I really disrespect them for making it difficult. They're stuck in the 1980's or they just suck. I don't know which one is worse. The gym is nice though.

I'll make this short.The gym got a wonderful facelift after switching to Fitness Connect.But like all the other 1-star reviews. It's very difficult/impossible to cancel your membership here. I was still getting additional charges after my termination date just like everyone else.I called them, but their manager was busy. I was told I would be called back. None. I emailed support on their official website. Nothing.Instead of playing their games, I went through my bank and refunded the charges and denied any further charges from them.Now I don't have to worry.
