Big Sky

Cancelling an account is a joke to these people. I called their (ridiculous) 3rd party customer care to cancel my account in APRIL before it renewed in June, wrote a letter of cancellation and they still renewed me for a new year. Such a sham, their facilities aren't even worth the headache.

They had a great incentive being promoted so I decided to sign up for a membership. After signing up I reviewed my email and realized they did not apply the promotion. I called they said they would fix it with no problem. Next month comes and I’m charged when I was not suppose to be for 3 months I called again they said I had to come In to fill out a form when I was not told that.. I went in on several occasions explaining the situation to severalEmployees they all did not know what to said I had to speak to a manager. A manger never contacted me here we are 4 months later their financial department is charging me all type of fees and charges and everytime I call a manager is NEVER there! They told me they will not cancel my membership of refund my $$ ... the entire thing is a SCAM & I am BEYOND frustrated!!!

This place is awesome. I'm so happy I found this place. My Trainer Jesse In New Britain is amazingly professional. He is spot on when it comes to understanding people's body's. He knows his stuff. There's never a moment when I don't know what to do. I always go in with a plan. The shakes are AWESOME!!!!! I could have those all day, every day lol and be sure I'll reach my goal. The staff are great very polite and greets everyone who walks in with a smile. I appreciate that big time. My goal is getting there and I'm thankful. You will not be disappointed if you sign up.

I have been going here for close to a month so far I can’t complain. If your a mom that can’t get to a gym cuz of daycare...so recommend. My kids enjoy coming when I do bring them. And I don’t feel out of place. A good diversity. Staff is extra friendly.

Reasonable membership costs, friendly staff and solid equipment.4 stars because some improvement is needed.Billing: In 5 months, I've used my membership twice. There's no option to cancel your contract unless you move >15 miles from the nearest Big Sky location or become disabled. Must provide proof of either. There would have to be a month-to-month option, a limited amount of visits per month for a reduced cost or extra cancellation reasons (unemployment/lack of use/other medical conditions) to get 5 stars from me.Facility: In my two visits, there's been some malfunctioning devices. Most notable were TVs attached to walls or exercise equipment. Equipment all appeared to be functional, but I've only visited for cardio machines and have yet to use resistance/weight ones.

This gym has all the cardio and weight training machines I could ask for, and more! I love the secluded upstairs area and the stretching turf. Helpful staff always there to answer any questions. Pretty clean for a gym!

This is a great gym. I use to go to the Newington Big Sky, which is also nice but it gets really busy between 4 PM and 7 PM. This gym does get busy but not nearly as bad as the Newington Big Sky. It's a smaller gym, which limits the amounts of machine but overall it's a great place for a workout.

This is a really great gym. We were vising from out of town for the winter break, and we're able to use a shirt term student membership. Lots of equipment, not over rowded like most gym. Extremely nice locker rooms and overall design/aesthetics (for example, hue windows with lots of natural light. I would recommend others check it out. We are certainly going to be getting memebeships whenever we are in town

Love this gym! Great people, great environment...train with Cary for years and absolutely LOVE her!!! Juice bar has great choices, amenities are a plus. This gym is motivational, friendly, clean...so glad it's close to home.

Lots of youth who text and make you wait to use the machines. They do not re rack the weights either. The facilities are actually good, clean except for the mens lockers. But as others have said on this review and others, they rip us off. Worked out for 4 years and paid with credit card. I was approaching 65 when I could get Silver Sneakers for free. Paid cash the last 2 years to make it harder for Big Sky to steal my money. My last cash day was March 18 when I left for another gym. June 18 I look at my account and see they had recharged my card without authorization and billed me for 3 months when i had never stepped into the gym in new Britain. This is not an unusual story, in fact it is the norm. Management will say i have a grudge, not true, or just blame the people who charge the card. They will tell you they have nothing to do with the credit card. But when you call the people who charge you, they say call the gym. It's a scam. Management should be ashamed, but they don't care. Check other reviews from different sites. If you go here DO NOT USE YOUR CARD EVER ! PAY CASH, IF THE SAY NO, GO TO A DIFFERENT GYM.
