Crunch Fitness on 34th Street offers a mixed experience for gym-goers. While some members praise the spacious layout, steam and sauna facilities, and friendly training staff, others highlight significant issues with cleanliness and equipment maintenance. Reviews indicate a wide variety of classes and adequate amenities, but there are complaints about the timeliness of repairs and the handling of guest passes and member issues.
Location convenience is another strong point, yet the gym has faced criticism for overcrowding and rigid policies regarding class attendance. Customer service experiences vary, showing a gap between management's response and member satisfaction. Suitable for those valuing facilities and variety, but potential members should be aware of noted operational shortcomings.

Most of the things at this gym are broken or dont work. The sauna is broken and doesn’t heat up. half the treadmills are broken and the locker rooms are always very messy.

My favourite NYC Crunch location by far. Spacious, great equipment, nice locker room and steam room. I don’t care travelling a little longer just to have a better workout experience here.

Dirty, over crowded, old overused broken equipment, outdated gym, trainers think they own the gym, music is obnoxiously loud during rush hours (am & pm), disgusting locker rooms, monthly fee is a rip off

The worst experience ever. Very terrible customer service. They force you to sign in for each of the class you register which makes you feel no freedom/flexibility here. In addition, they won’t let you in for a class when you’re only 15 minutes late and with constant employee turnover management of the staff is also a mess. Some staff will let you in which mislead you that you can be there 15 minutes later while some staff would be mean and force you to leave the gym. They renovated the shower room which makes the water temperature not stable. And they changed the shampoo to a cheaper version. And the steam room can be out of service without an instruction of how to turn it on. The massage guns are missing 90% of them all the time. They also discriminate against ClassPass members so if you have class pass don’t go to this location. It’ll ruin your mood by interacting with those lack of empathy/ careless managers. A woman even said she’s the manager at the front desk. Also when I canceled the Crunch membership last year they charged me a late class fee after the member cancelation date, which feels disgusting. Just try other fun places with class pass and don’t settle for this one.

Decent gym but not enough weight machines. Poor allocation of space, tons of wasted stretch areas and a mile of elliptical machines. The weight area is packed at 430, will probably quit after the summer.

Really nice, clean location. I work with Nathaniel, a trainer, 2 days a week and I can’t recommend him enough! I enjoy the Swerve cycle classes too.

Clean and decent offerings. Very crowded and not anything that sets it apart from other gyms

Had a free day pass(only valid for that day), Front desk guy was nice but all the people who had power to “activate the pass” left before closing so I couldn’t go. Wasted the free day pass I paid for.

Not the best if you are around for a few days. They charge $35 for a day pass. There are better options around for much less. They also offer free day pass on their website, but when you get there they tell you it’s for residents only. Not a great experience at this gym.

No one at this location responds to emails. When you do finally get them on the phone, there are incredibly unprofessional people working here and Crunch in general.
