Crunch Fitness on 34th Street offers a mixed experience for gym-goers. While some members praise the spacious layout, steam and sauna facilities, and friendly training staff, others highlight significant issues with cleanliness and equipment maintenance. Reviews indicate a wide variety of classes and adequate amenities, but there are complaints about the timeliness of repairs and the handling of guest passes and member issues.
Location convenience is another strong point, yet the gym has faced criticism for overcrowding and rigid policies regarding class attendance. Customer service experiences vary, showing a gap between management's response and member satisfaction. Suitable for those valuing facilities and variety, but potential members should be aware of noted operational shortcomings.

Very welcoming staff, if you go and need a tour because you haven’t made a decision to what gym join. Well ask for James G. he is the guy to talk to.He will help you, coordinate a time that works around your schedule to sit down and go over everything the gym can offer. After the tour, if he got time he will even give you pointers for your current gym routine.P.S. they got a sauna room

The biggest pros are the steam room/sauna and the convenience of the location. Cons are that it smells terrible in the steam room, would be nice to throw some pleasing scents in there, and a few of the weight machines (and shower doors in the locker room) are broken from time to time. Towels are paper thin as well. Other than that, pretty typical gym. Given the context of NYC, and the price of a membership, it’s pretty difficult to beat.

I was a crunch member for years but a couple days ago I was late for my class pass reserved gym time. I was stuck in subway. A gentlemen on the front desk refused to let me. Classpass was nice enough to not charge me a no show fee but I had to go to Tribeca crunch, where lady at the front desk was nicer and she let me in earlier. Today I went to 34th yoga class and saw this little buddy in the shower. Please remember to be nice to your customers because you’re not perfect either. 😁

Unprofessional and rude staff.I showed up to class after registering ahead and for more than once I couldn’t workout because there was no room for meI’m registered for about 4 month and I have a problem with the app, I complained 8 times via phone and at least 3 time via mail (about 10 times in person) - nothing changed. Nobody helped.DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER GYM

Most people complain about a gym and LEAVE. I complained and STAYED lol. Glad i did because all the things i complained about was addressed immediately by the Mgrs. Ms Alfonso and Ms Peke. Now i brag about my gym lol. I pass several gym franchises to come here. It's a good SAFE workout vibe. One can't help but get serious about fitness in this environment. Don't just leave when you're not happy. Ask for the things that will make you happy. In Fitness and in life.

Really bad. Signed up for 2 months and paid upfront. Never told me I'd have to cancel before the 3rd month started. Spoke to at least 5 representatives and manager and they still charged me for the 3rd month even though I was not even physically in the US. I am a student and I had mentioned that I will be leaving New York after 2 months while signing the contract. Even after the guy who made me sign the contract agreed with me, the manager still charged me and hasn't responded to my emails. Unbelievable.

Been going here for few yrs, great place for a quick work out session and classes. I absolutely love the steam room, one of the cleanest Crunch steam rooms in the city.

I would give this gym negative stars if I could. I was a member at another Crunch gym and the front desk at this gym charged me $110 over the course of 11 visits without saying a word. I cannot believe that they would do that to someone!

I use it before going to work but planning to switch to another gym. They have a serious problem with locker room maintenance. Half of the showers are broken, the sauna is not always working and the steam room hasn't been repaired for weeks now.

Far better then it’s sister “signature club”. It’s a large space, great amount of cardio and weights. It’s got a ton of extras and even has theraguns for use! Not sure why the lower rating here, had a great experience! Far better then the more expensive shoe box.
