Peaceful, fully equipped and conveniently located. There's so much to love about this gym. The staff is polite and friendly, super helpful and they're good recognizing your individual needs. I don't like to be bothered when I'm in the zone, but have been helped greatly by the trainers on site between sets when they notice issues with my form. It's a great atmosphere to get work done.

not a good gym at all. machines are broken constantly, you have to SIGN in order to get certain equipment like the rope and the holds for the cable machinein order to cancel the membership, you have to go in person and waste your time to do so. On the NYSC website, they state that you can call in to cancel, but you have to navigate an automated system to speak to anyone. however, their automated system doesn't even work properly, so i couldn't even talk to a real person. it prompts you to enter a zip code or agreement number, then loops back to the beginning

The gym has good equipment but horrible maintenance. AC hasn't been working for a while now and every time I ask I'm told they are aware but absolutely nothing is being done to fix it. This summer has been extremely hot and it seems they are just waiting for the winter to avoid fixing costs. It shouldn't take months to fix the AC. During my last visit they didn't even have towels to hand out saying they are having a towel shortage. Crazy hot inside and no towels to give... Wish I could them a 0.

The women’s steam room has been closed for over 6 months now and was the main reason I pay extra to go to this gym! The one on the West side 73rd st was also closed and now has reopened only to be sub par so far. I ask every week at 91st when it might be fixed and they tell me they have no idea. I can find just a gym easily so the amenities are the selling points for me.Please fix this!

Overall good deal — if all you need is free weights, this NYSC location is a great value. Upkeep could certainly be better as others mention, but then again, with how cheap the membership is, something’s gotta give! I would be upset if I were paying Equinox prices, but it’s not even close. The only true negative (and reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is the staff. My experience doesn’t seem totally consistent with others’ after reading through comments, so take my experience with a grain of salt, but I’ve had a couple of occasions where the staff was rude and seemed miserable. One highlight was when I asked somebody if she knew where the ab wheel was — her response: “I don’t know, it’s a gym.” Nobody is forcing you to work at a gym! If retail/service isn’t for you, then go back to school. Anyway, easy enough to ignore and move on — I highly recommend this location!

Terrible service. No one takes responsibility. Membership impossible to cancel. I am still paying 5 months after cancelling. And when I call I am put on hold and then a voice mail and no call back. Very frustrating. No one cares

I went there first time today. I like it over there and very comfortable. It's next to subway station, bus stop and outdoor sitting area.

I enjoy my workouts at NYSC, it’s clean and well maintained, the equipment is good and it’s not too crowded.

They did a lot of renos during the pandemic and added a bunch of new equipment. It’s now mostly modernized, plenty of machines available even at peak hours.
