The gym itself is fine, but the membership team, led by the general manager Akeem, is very difficult to work with and is very deceptive with their billing policies. I went in to cancel my subscription over a year back and they instead put a freeze on my account - not acknowledging that there would be a monthly charge associated with the freeze. Without providing any notification, they unfroze my account three months later and began to charge me monthly. When I alerted the gym to the error, they explained that it was within their right to unfreeze my account without any notification. When I tried to resolve the matter, it took weeks to get responses from the team, and the issue was never resolved. The gym itself is serviceable (though in need of some renovations), but I would advise against becoming a member of this gym. For a gym that claims to pride itself in customer service, I would say they fell substantially short of providing a positive experience. Just read any of the last few reviews and you'll get a sense of how often they seem to mishandle - and deceptively bill - their customers.

I like this location and the gym is not bad at all.

Great Classes. Whole place needs repairs. Management is so so.

Very dirty gym things are almost always broken and crowded. Keeps getting worse and worse. Literally in a state of disrepair and neglect. A lot of broken equipment, water fountains, even doors.

Why does NYSC think loud, mediocre, music is a plus? And really weird they don’t even let managers control it? It’s centrally controlled from the headquarters. Please, Turn down the music in the gym so we can hear our own.

Huge disappointment so far. The gym has charged me double the amount of my membership. I contacted the manager but they said it was something I had to address in my bank. After going there they said that the ones charging double were indeed NYSC ( I have never had a problem with Bank of America they treat me very well)I reached back to the manager but she doesn’t seem to care since she hasn’t gotten back to me in the last 7 days.Im dropping this place ( my wife did it in the first week, she clearly was smarter than me) I hope at least they have the consideration to give me the extra money they charged me back.

very loud music that no one wants to listen to. Both spin bikes are ratchety and don't work properly.front desk is not personable. Front desk now much better (jan8)4th best nysc on the uws behind 62nd, 73rd, and 76th(small but well run). 62 and 76 are goneMost if not all photos are old. The equipment has changed. No nautilus. Only strive. there is NO lat pulldown machine. this location is the only nysc gym in the whole city that does not have a lat pull down machine...WHY. well i think management doesn't care. Not only is the gym poorly maintained (there are machines that have needed repair FOR MONTHS) but the gym wastes immense amount of precious space. All the elipticals on the second floor do not work properly. 5th floor is the worst. Half of the floor is barely used...a managers office that's never used and the pt area equally underused. A powerlift area on the 3rd also has minimal use. They could add,,,,,,,, 16 assisted weight machines to the minimal number of machines they have nowLeave a towel or trash and it won't get picked up for days. A cleanup maid who spends all her time online on the 2nd floor manager's room. Update - There's no longer any cleanup(jan8 2023). Maybe they caught the cleanup lady napping.Go to the 73/cpw gym

STAY AWAY! DON'T BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY WHEN THEY SIGNED YOU UP! They play nice, tell you you can make changes/cancel, then will change their story and will not let you cancel. Awful customer service. Do yourself a favor, use any other gym in the area.

Horrible gym!! If I could give them 0 stars I would give them minus. They tried to push me towards membership again and again and I asked them to cancel. They said they cancelled but they kept charging me. I would not be a member of them anymore and I am not interested in being a member and they still kept charging me after I asked them many many times to cancel they confirmed the cancellation but kept charging me.That is bad business would not recommend at all.

FRAUD/SCAM! Unethical management! They will promise you deals to join and begin a memebership with them but noy fulfill these promises and treat you terribly. The male manager (I am unsure of the spelling, Ahbadu) promised me an extra month free upon signing but then charged me for the month. Everytime I talked to them about being refunded they said they were updating their systems so it would have to wait a couple more weeks. It has now been two months (and I have cancelled my membership) and I just called to try to discuss my refund again. I spoke to the lady manager (whose name I am unsure of bc she would never tell me) on the phone said "if discussion of a refund it taking two months then it most likely is not happening" and when I mentioned I would dispute it with my credit card company if they could not resolve the matter stated "whoever kept pushing your refund probably did so because the longer you wait to dispute your claims the less likely it will actually work" and when I communicated my shock at how this was being handled and how it felt fraudulent and like I was being scammed she stated "I have no idea what your are talking about, this phone call never happened and I have never spoken to you about this." Throughout this she was yelling at me and without saying the actual words, telling me they will never refund me and will fight my dispute. Very clear that they never intended to give me a deal and only said that so I would sign a membership with them. Terrible management, awful customer service, extremely unacceptable and I am appalled by their actions.
