One of the worst NYSC clubs you can go to. The management reflects the neighborhood around it. They have not once of people skills and could care less of professionalism. Most the equipment is ether out of date or simply broken and they could care less. I wish real gym would take Harlem seriously and open a real gym here, but until then we have disgusting NYSC on 145st

Recently, management at NYSC implemented a series of highly-publicized renovations. However, the end result left much to be desired. These changes appear to prioritize private trainers and their clients over regular members. About two-thirds of the existing, functional equipment was removed, and black carpets for CrossFit enthusiasts were installed instead, with the rest of the equipment being cramped in the smallest possible amount of space.Another disappointing aspect is the reduced accessibility of the studio, which is now closed for most of the day. Management cited disorganization as the reason, but they could have hired staff to maintain order or held members accountable instead.Compared to other gym franchise's locations, which offer a wider array of equipment at a lower cost, this NYSC has become less appealing. These changes have made it difficult to complete a workout without waiting for machines at any time of the day.Yet another disappointment by NYSC

I used to love this gym but they have since removed a ton of the equipment. It’s now very frustrating to go to the gym because you have to wait to use everything since there are so few options. The upstairs is crowded because people are trying to use what few machines there are and downstairs is empty save for people using the weights. This has turned into a cross fit gym and that is so selfish to assume all members want to train that way. Annoying.Update: the gym is getting worse. They’ve now locked the studios and only allow customers to use it during certain times, so if you go to the gym after 4 pm and you want to use the studio forget it. The place has become a waste of my money. They keep saying they will replace machines but that has not happened. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting.

it can be frustrating when the gym doesn't have the equipment or programs that you need to reach your goals. If you're experiencing this frustration, you're not alone. Many people have complaints about their gym, including a lack of equipment, a lack of leadership, too much focus on powerlifting, and a disregard for customer opinion. One of the most common complaints is that the gym doesn't have enough equipment. They removed a bunch of machines for legs and upper body and never replaced them. This can be especially frustrating if you're trying to do a specific exercise or follow a certain program. When you don't have access to the right equipment, it can make it difficult to achieve your fitness goals. Some gyms also have a focus on powerlifting, which can be great if that's what you're interested in. However, if you prefer to use machines or do other types of exercises, it can be frustrating to feel like you're being left out. Specially when the gym is too focused on powerlifting like this one. Finally, some gyms simply don't care about customer opinion. They may not have a suggestion box or feedback system, or they may not respond to customer complaints. If you find yourself in this situation, it may be time to consider switching gyms. A gym that doesn't value its customers is unlikely to provide the support and equipment you need to achieve your fitness goals.

This place needs a lot of work. I just joined but all the machines are really old. They barely have any machines. No hot water for showers and locker room and bathrooms really dirty. It’s the nearest gym to me which is the reason I signed up. But I’m really disappointed that we are paying more than what we’re getting in return. Needs a lot of improvement

It's a great location, but unfortunately poor customer service. Had the worse experience with management. Need people with a higher level of training or manners to deal with situations. So sad people think we're all the same.

The cardio machines were all moved to one corner on the second floor. It’s very sweaty and smelly now in that one corner. The new layout looks good but not well thought out.

To the management: What is going on here? You've started renovations, supposedly to upgrade the club, and yet it is routinely without the simplest supplies like paper towels or wipes to clean equipment. This has been true all through the worst flu season we've seen in years on top of oh just a little thing called a PANDEMIC. There are no paper towels in the bathrooms, folks. No tissues. Broken machines. Weights everywhere. Towel service was stopped with covid and never restored. Is it a coincidence that this club--one of the only gyms in this area of Harlem--gets so little love and, apparently, budget? DO BETTER or you will lose more and more members, no matter how many "renovations" you undertake.

I used to enjoy going to this gym but I HATE the new layout. They made the bottom floor pretty much for weightlifting and personal training and moved all the machines upstairs. Plus they REMOVED some of the machines. They used to have duplicates of some machines but I guess they got rid of them so they could fit everything upstairs. So now the top floor is ALWAYS sooo crowded and the machines are always in use while the bottom floor is pretty much always empty. Whose idea was this? HORRIBLE!!
