The gym’s in pretty bad condition (equipment falling apart / broken and facilities are poorly maintained). At the same time it’s really the only gym in the area so not really any alternatives (no wonder NYSC hasn’t fixed it up). Surprised a Blink or another chain hasn’t tried to expand in this neighborhood. One good part is staff is generally nice / polite

Racist policies . Let’s put it plain and simple . If you live close to any NYSC where minorities (black or brown people live ) don’t expect the basics . No towels , soap or even toilet paper (125th st ) this services can only be found 110st and below in Manhattan .

There is nothing excellent about this gym it’s literally just the only one in the area. The hours change constantly without notice. Machines are moving around so it’s clear someone wants something to improve but the equipment the vast majority of the customers use has not changed. If you’re looking for a dumbbell between 12- 30lbs, good luck, there’s only one set of each and they could be anywhere—upstairs, downstairs, under a random machine, or likely in someone else’s hands— so factor “search time” into your workout plan because it’s significant. There’s far too many unused cardio machines and not nearly enough squat racks, barbells, or plates to load onto them. There’s ONE dedicated place for deadlifts. One. Again good luck w any plates under 45 tho. There are zero 35lb/thinner barbells, and no small simple things that can and should be standard like hip thrust pads, ab mats, or rubber bands. The floor is constantly cluttered w equipment the last person didn’t re-rack. The ground downstairs is disgusting and crowded so the only place to do anything lying down is a tiny area upstairs that’s understandably packed by other patrons seeking space. This place is the Walmart of gyms: The best thing going for it is the price and location. You can get the job done there but there’s nothing exceptional or even enjoyable about the experience. Positive reviews are probably fake/from the staff.

All around 5 Star experience! Um. I definitely feel challenged to improve my game here at 145th St. New York Sports Clubs. I've been going here for years and I love this place! Everything is spotlessly clean and regularly maintained. Haven't experienced personal training as yet, but I'm very encouraged, if any staff member suggests, I won't be able to say no. Lol. Excellent location too!

The ladies locker room showers is extremely dirty. Management need to expect their broken equipment, plumbing, wall stains and carpet damages. I'm so sorry I didn't request a club tour before my monthly fee. Not Satisfied 145 NYSC

This gym has really fallen off through the years.Machines are missing some of the weight labels so theres no way to be sure how much your lifting unless you are already familiar with the equipment. It is also not very organized dumbbells are never in the right place and some are also missing the weight indicator number. I know members are responsible for putting stuff back where it belongs but most gyms I’ve been to employees go around organizing things more regularly. Also most gyms have better quality dumbbells even for the lighter weights. The gym itself is also not very clean. I saw a bottle of green juice on a windowsill and it was still there when I returned the next day.I also had to shower with freezing cold water on a day that was extremely cold because the hot water went out a few mins into my shower. This location gets 2 stars because the staff I’ve encountered has been really nice especially John(personal trainer), Joanna (front desk attendant) and Izzy (GM).I’ve really been contemplating canceling but its the only gym in the area. Wish they would really work making things better.

Like someone else said, "If you live close to any NYSC where minorities (black or brown people live ) don’t expect the basics."There is no soap or paper towels regularly. In a time where viruses like COVID-19 and Monkeypox are running rampant, it's clear that this location does NOT care about its members. And not to mention the equipment is antiquated and constantly out of service. Sadly, this is the only gym in the area so there's nowhere else to go. If you don't mind commuting to workout, I'd strongly recommend finding another gym!!!!

Terrible experience with this gym. I feel so sad because it's the only gym in the neighborhood. I tried for almost 2 years. They took 75 annual fee plus 50 per month. Overpriced. Today I came to cancel and ask for my refund of my annual fee because of course I won't do one more year here plus I had freeze the account before.

Came in today on 5 day trial, had been to this location once before months ago, and was told I couldn’t do a 5 day trial again, because “He’s seen me before” Didn’t check my Id or anything. He made it seem like I was trying to get over on him. Saying things like “oh it’d be nice to workout for free huh.” And “I can’t let you have a 5 day because you don’t want to pay” I barely said a word and told him I come to New York City for work and am only here 3 days and yet because “he’s seen me there once before months ago”, I can’t use the club unless I pay for a membership. This company has really gone downhill with the people they hire and represent them. The tall skinny guy with the beard and accent was very rude about it, like he took it personal and couldn’t wait to talk about me to others sitting in their cubicles as soon as I turned my back. I plan on relocating to nyc and would have joined once I was settled here but not anymore. I wouldn’t give nysc a dime based on the customer service. Stay away from this club, give your money to a better place.

Great customer service and very close to the D and A line. There's a lot of equipment at this location, is never crowded and is kept very clean, to my relief.
