I know it's not uncommon with gyms but they're super dishonest about canceling your membership. I turned off auto renew 6+ months before my prepaid amount ended and they still charged my card. When I called the "help" line and complained, I was essentially told too bad and then they threatened me with collections even though they already had charged me.Update: not only did I have to dispute the charges with the bank they somehow have charged my card for this month too. Now I need to dispute those as well.

The staff at this Vasa is incredible! They are super helpful, my kids LOVE the kidcare and they’re equipment is always clean. It can get a little crowded but I’ve never had a bad experience asking people if they are almost done or switching in and out with people. Everyone there is really friendly and it seems to be a good judgment free zone

Recently we made a move to way-south Texas. There are no VASA gyms in this neck of the woods so when I emailed to cancel my membership - which, by the way, I no longer could locate my membership number or bar code - Anna made it simple and easy to get the cancellation done. Quick and easy - excellent customer service!

VASA gym is a great place for extroverts and fitness junkies. It's clean, loads of great equipment and creates a party-kind-of-feeling sometimes with fun music. Different subscription models for those of various budgets, basic getting you pretty much everything you need for $10/month. Not bad. However, the personal trainer contracts are like signing to the devil in Faust. When I went in for a personal trainer, they explained everything the personal trainer could do for me, how much fun it would be, whether the length of it were three months or six months, once or twice per week, etc. They neglected to tell me that I had only three days after signing to cancel the contract. They ALSO neglected to tell me that financial or medical hardship would not liberate me from a contract either. Both of these hit me hard, from my mother going into hospice for bone cancer and myself getting hit by a semi truck on the highway, breaking five bones, collapsing my lungs and putting me in a coma for a few days. I thought, "there is no way I can possibly go to the gym for at least three months. Could I cancel?" NOPE. The word from each representative is "sorry, you have to pay $280 every month or pause your contract for $10."Heartless contracts, terrible and dishonest communication that's costing me a college-guy fortune. NEVER going back.

I’ve been to a lot of vasa gyms in the valley and I really like this one. It’s bigger than the rest so even if it’s busy you can still get in on machines. The only thing I wish they had that they don’t is a curl bar for the cable machines… they don’t have a single one.

Tried to cancel both of my memberships more than 30 days prior to the annual fee and conveniently enough they never received my cancellation and still charged me the annual fee. I spoke to Bonnie (customer service) over the phone and she informed me they didn't "see" anything in their system. I am more likely to trust an insurance claim processor than I am a customer service representative from this company.I paid for two memberships for three years and I regret ever giving them my business. I was planning on renewing my membership in five months. I will now gladly go to a different gym. Unfortunate to see a company so willing to swindle their customers over $60. If you're a college student like I am, don't make the same mistake I did.EDIT: Don't be fooled by VASA's response to this review. More than two weeks later and I have yet to hear back from anyone. Extremely unprofessional.

They never told me that my payments weren't being taken from my bank, and then sent it to collections. Because they closed my account no one could tell me why collections was demanding $400, rather than the $160 that I believe it should have been. They repeatedly told me they called me but I never got any calls and they never tried emailing me or telling me in person. The best they could do to "apologize" was offer $10 off a future Vasa payment. Cool!

Quite literally the worst customer service I receive from any location in the area. I go to 1600n or the provo location and the staff is so friendly. Here it's almost like they go out of their way to be unfriendly. I never get greeted when I walk in, and to top it all off I had an absolutely miserably experience. I lost my keys in the gym (so keep in mind I wasn't going anywhere until I found them) and after retracing my steps I asked the front desk employees for some help. This is already a slightly embarrassing experience they made it ten times worse. Not only did they make no effort to help me even look they made passive aggressive comments such as "never had to call over the intercom before but I guess there is a first for everything." These people shouldn't even be paid

If you’ve heard rumors about all the hidden fees at VASA, they’re definitely true. I’ll go ahead and tell them to you outright so you have full disclosure. It just simply isn’t worth it anymore after taking all things into consideration.1. If you don’t sign up during one of their promotions for $0 down, there is an enrollment fee aside from what you’re going to be paying monthly. It’s pretty hefty- something around $70 to start up.2. Your gym membership is contractual. It’s a six month contract and if you cancel before it’s over, there’s a $25 cancel fee.3. $10 a month is great… But there’s no flexibility. If you want to change your home gym, it’s a $20 fee.4. Annual maintenance fee. I think you get hit with this no matter what. If you sign up in the Summer, they hit you with it in the fall. If you sign up after the fall fee, they hit you with it in the Spring. There’s no way around it unless you incur the smaller loss by paying the $25 contract cancel fee. The maintenance fee is another $70.5. Want to freeze your payments? Awesome. Enjoy paying a $10 freeze fee with no options. You can freeze it for up to 90 days but if you need to freeze it longer, it’s another $10.6. I hate this one the absolute most. In the contract they say they “need” 30 days of notice to process your cancellation. Any payments that are due to be drafted within the next 30 days upon your cancellation have to be paid. This is BS. There are hardly any companies that do this.Just pick a local gym. I’ve tried my best to make VASA work out. It’s one of the few options in my area. I just quit today and it took 2 hours being on hold because the cancel form said it couldn’t find my information in the system. There is no straightforward way of cancelling. I strongly suggest you find something different.
