Their equipment is good, Movie/cycling room is pretty cool too; however, the facility is absolutely filthy. I don't think they ever clean their machines. The entire building also smells like sweat. my advice to management is.. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. There is no excuse for how dirty the machines are.

I signed up with them on one of their promotional days and the whole thing has been a nightmare. My friend and I signed up on the same day but with different people April 4th 2017. I signed up with the GM Brian (or Brandon its a B name) I signed up for the 12 month membership and to have personal training start in May, I was told that I wouldn't pay ANYTHING ELSE until the May payment drafted, I verified that information with Brian 3 times, no additional payments due until May. My friend who signed up with a different staff member was told the same thing, no additional payment until May. The VERY NEXT DAY we both had membership fee charges for the month of April. We went up to the gym together and went back to Brian and he apologized for the miscommunication, it was the start up fee that we paid the day before and the 2nd payment was the membership fee for the month. I was ready to cancel my membership flat right then-and-there for the underhanded dealing I felt happened. Instead Brian said he would discount both or our membership fees by 50% for the next 2 months May and June, which we agreed to and left. A few days later I decided to cancel my personal training part of my membership because I don't want to use it yet, I was told that I can cancel anything flat within 30 days. I tried for 2 weeks to get a hold of someone who could cancel the PT, I was told every time I called that I would get a call back, I never did. I finally went up to the gym (which is an hour away from where I live) and was told that I needed to talk to the PT manager Steven, but he was out sick. I signed the cancellation form which is dated 4/27/17, within my 30 days. Steven did finally call me the next day, 2 weeks after I had been leaving messages and had gone into the gym twice, said he would take care of it. I verified with him that they WOULD NOT draft my account for the personal training and I was told that "no it won't draft." On May 6th I received the notice that the payment did actually draft from my account for the PT and that the membership did NOT get the 50% credit for me or my friend. I called and was told I'd get a call back, I didn't, I called again and was told I'd get a call back and I didn't. I went up there today May 8th 2017 and was told that the manager is too busy to return my calls or to see me. I signed a new form to cancel my membership completely and was told I'd receive a call later. Because of THEIR NEGLECT and their SHADY and UNTRUSTWORTHY STAFF, I want to warn EVERYONE to stay away from this gym. I'm now locked into a contract that I wanted to cancel over a month ago but didn't in good faith that the issues would be fixed and since the managers are too busy to take care of their customers I'm royally screwed. I called my bank and claimed the new draft as fraudulent charges, they weren't authorized, signed cancellation means you cannot take my payment for services, and I cancelled within my 30-day period. HORRIBLE COMPANY, THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF MEMBERS!

Be careful for what you're signing up for. I was lied to from the moment I signed up (saying I would have to manually renew it each month) to the moment I "cancelled" the membership. (I ended up being charged an entire extra month because I was told I could pay over the phone). Absolutely terrible. I went in person to get it cancelled and I'm STILL being charged for a gym where I don't even live, a month later! There are a billion other gyms in RR. Don't waste your time here.

So far there is very little good I can say about this location.1. Read your contracts super carefully, do not listen to what you're told you're signing.2. Ask for quotes from different people, you will get different answers and always keep a copy of your paperwork.3. I hurt my back last week and have now called 6 days in a row, multiple times a day to reschedule my appointment with my personal trainer there and have yet to receive a confirmation or even a call back. I most likely will be forced to pay for the session and told for the second time that it was my fault for not rescheduling sooner.Correction, they finally called me back to reschedule after 5 days of calling and 15 messages.4. I have followed their diet to the letter, I have followed the workout program I was given to the letter and I have gained quite a bit of weight specifically in body fat, not muscle.5. Their machines are in working order though.

The gym is going downhill. The men's locker room hardly ever has a scale that works, people leave piles of chalk by the weights and don't clean up, and members even bring in their dogs (not service). In the evening, the staff can often be seen hanging out with their friends or flirting with the ladies, leaving the front desk unattended. When a machine breaks, it takes about three days to a week before it is up and running again. Still, this place has a cardio theater, basketball court, pool, and several classes. I've been a member for years, but some of the decline is encouraging me to look around for other options, or a different Golds Gym.

I'm sure its a great facility for knowledgeable, avid and healthy gym goers but I only was able to go once in 2 months due to health issues and scheduling the "free assessment" never happened because I needed early morning and the person they assigned me to was only available once in that time frame which didn't work for me. I was told I paid my 'last month' when I signed up but now (3 days after I canceled) I get an email saying they are going to charge me one more month and I can use the gym until September......BUT they took my key tag to get in....? My one time at the gym cost me $160 and countless emails trying to schedule an assessment...UPDATE: I went in to speak with someone about that final payment and Dorothy the General Manager was there. Long story short I still had to pay that last month but she was awesome! Gave me a new key tag, scheduled my assessment for a time I could actually go and it went great. It was a 1 hour interview/guided tour of the facility teaching me how to use the equipment best for me. Rethinking my membership.

It's consistently hot every time I go, which used to not be the case. Very crowded, and it's a lot of people who like to stand and talk. Otherwise the place is clean and they have the equipment I need, when it's not too crowded for the equipment to be free.

WiFi is available but works horribly. So plan on using some data. Also plan on your workout being lengthy if you go between 4pm - 10pm. Racks are usually always used and you're going to be waiting and waiting for machines. I guess I'll be part of the solution and go to the further but less busy tech ridge location.Front desk associates are hardly professional and are always up in the clouds.

Overcrowded, parking sucks. No early termination available if you sign up for a year contract. Pressured into signing up for a year upon initial start. I'm sure if I get a new card they will send to collections. Join another gym, skip these scam artists.

I love that they have a separate ladies gym room. I don't use it for the privacy, but they have everything I need in one spot- dumbbells, mats, and benches, plus a few machines. The staff is always friendly and I've never had a problem with them in the ~5 years I've been a member.
