This gym is very nice. I was in this area on vacation and the manager was really acomidating about me buying a pass to workout. Yes, it is a busy gym and sometimes you have to wait for equipment but you are going to get that ANYWHERE. Facilities were clean, plenty of weights and weight lifting machines, as well as lots of cardio equipment. The selection of drinks and supplements was also nice. I would definitely recommend.

Horrible customer service, especially from manager Steve. He persuade me to sign a contract without telling me that I will not be able to cancel it. This sounds illegal and I do not trust this gym any longer. Moreover, on my first session with a personal trainer, a coach spent 10 minutes on work out, that should have lasted an hour, and the rest of the time he was trying to persuade me to buy personal training sessions. I am so mad and frustrated with this gym. I would not suggest anyone to get a membership at this fitness club. Waste of money and time. This is the closest fitness club to my home, but I would rather drive longer distance than spend more money out there.

It doesn't give you the option to select no stars, but believe me this rating is ZERO stars. Wow I had the same experience as most. My wife was told she could do a free month because it was an xsport deal that they offered because they came to her job. Little did my wife know, they snaked her into signing a contract stating she only has to pay the first month initially and if she doesn't like it she can cancel, but the snake failed to tell her that she would be charged on the card she paid the first month on if she didn't write this elaborate letter to explain why she had decided to stop after the one month. He had enrolled her in auto payment. He told her she also received all the info in her email. Funny story, upon going to the gym to speak to the manager about this sketchy person who signed her up, we are told this person no longer worked there and that he falsified the contract he had her sign because she didn't put an email, nor a phone number on the contract info, yet she was only asked to write her name. Upon speaking to the manager who right away let us know there was nothing he could do, we found out the original guy had put a fake phone number and phony email address on the application which explains why my wife never received any information about her membership she was swindled into. We were told to contact corporate and we did. While on the phone with corporate they ensured us they would correct her phone number and email address and we're sorry for the misunderstanding. There was no misunderstanding their employee had pulled some shady business and they were trying to completely sweep it under the rug and acted as if my biggest concern was the email and phone number. My issue was fraud and theft! Not that her info was incorrect. They continued to tell me that I would have to write a letter to cancel my membership. I told them to go "somewhere" and I had to go as far as disputing the charge with my bank and canceling my debit card! Not once did they offer me anything. Not once did they admit fault or take responsibility. I tell everyone I come in contact with this story and it's been months but after reading some of the similar stories I feel compelled to tell me story. Great facility horrible faculty and no customer loyalty, they should focus on taking care of people instead of have shady character sneakily sign and deceive people into signing up and locking themselves into conracts. Crazy thing is had this moron done his job correctly explained everything in depth, we would have been long term paying members.

Staff lied about the cancellation policy. Andrew is a slimy salesman who is extremely pushy and lied about the membership contract. Do not trust the staff and don't sign anything without reading it all the way through. Warning: you only …

DO NOT TRUST THIS GYM. I went for the "week free," deal to check it out. But I was told I could not do classes with out signing up. I didn't want to just yet, so I was told I could pay for a month, and at the end I can pay the add'l fees (last months fee and a card fee). So I say ok, but I have to sign the paperwork to get started and get to the classes. The gym would charge me a month later if I decided to join. But low and behold I was charged less than a month the add'l amount, and I haven't even decided yet. So I call the manager Kyle, and no apology or speaking to his employee who clearly lied to my face, he says call corporate. So I do, they say oh well we don't see anything in the system, we have to request the contract from the site and review. Of course there is nothing, because I didn't have a contract! Well no time frame how long that could take, meanwhile I am out the money Xsport stole. All this for 2 months of fees, that they probably were going to get anyways, I was leaning towards their gym. But not after the lies and run around, they lost a customer. And I have been telling everyone I come in contact with. As well as every social media site, and the BBB. Do not go here for the "free week."

The gym is just now (Dec 14) finishing a complete remodel of the whole gym, including all new equipment. I am a new member, having been a member of a number of different gyms in the past. The facility and equipment if very nice. Never have to wait for cardio (each has it's own tv). Occasionally have to wait for machines, a bit more occasionally have to wait for free weights. While the gym is kept clean, the biggest problem is that members are not encouraged to help. Very few people use the spray bottles to wipe down equipment, people don't rerack the weights very well, often will find weights laying all over the place, and lots of people will drag their gym bag and coats around with them. While it is a very nice gym, it is pretty crowded and they could use to educate the members better on proper etiquette.

I love this place! Dramatic change in staff and facilities getting big upgrade. I have been a member at forest grove and at buffalo grove and at this Xsport years ago. I have spent thousands at other places and not been satisfied. The difference at Xsport now is impressive! Best trainer I have ever had (Patric M.). Really believe this is the last time I will lose this weight. Down over 40 pounds and getting way stronger. The training manager (Mike L.) is a no BS guy who has taken the time to listen and create meal programs and make other very helpful suggestions. I have paid much more for much less. Strong club management listens and resolves issues quickly. Only thing that kept me from a perfect review is corporate still working out kinks in some processes. Bottom line: if you want results and you are willing to show up and work they will work hard to deliver what they say. Get up and get going!

10/22/14 Update: New equipment and updated decor are finally being completed. I'm not a fan of the paint style/colors, but this isn't going to affect my workout so who cares. The new strength equipment is a huge improvement. As of right now it is looking like there might even be more room for folks to move around. A HUGE plus. However, I still don't agree with taking one of the studios out of commission. If the folks at XSport happen to read this, I sincerely hope they are looking into acquiring another location in the area (preferably on the West side of 53). I know there is an empty strip mall Dominick's that would be a good location. Also, just a word on the locker rooms. I've always been satisfied with the cleanliness of the ladies locker room.Original post: What started out as an o.k. experience has definitely declined in the past year. Unless you are working out in the early A.M. it is always dangerously overcrowded. Made worse by the fact not everyone stows their personal bags in the lockers, and those are strewn everywhere in the evenings. I understand gyms need to sell fitness packages to make money, but this place is obnoxiously pushy with a high turn over in trainers. (The good ones don't last here long.) Majority of the equipment is dated, and the entertainment screens on the cardio equipment need serious work....volume not working, local channels missing, etc. Recent renovations are taking forever. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but frankly, I'm tired of waiting. Also found out one of only two studio spaces will be taken up by their new X-IT program. Good luck finding comfortable free space to stretch or do any floor exercises.

Don't bother wasting your time at this XSport. I signed up for personal training sessions and have already gone through 2 trainers w/ in a month. Each trainer I've come across has been unreliable. They continue to cancel their appoinments the day of. When speaking to the manager "Big Mike" about it he came across as rude and extremely sarcastic. I've been in contact with corporate numerous times about this location and nothing still has been done to assist with my situation. This location has been the worst XSport I've ever dealt with! I will stick to the locations near my home in the city. Though this gym is the most convenient since it's near my job it's not worth the headache and stress of those employees who could care less about their customers. Next step is reaching out to the BBB and filing a formal complaint. I will never step foot in this place ever again.
